Happy 13th Birthday to the sweetest cat ever!
I spoke to Leo's grandparents today and he is doing great. Celebrating his birthday by going mousing first thing this morning and catching a mouse within 5 minutes, he brought it in to eat in the kitchen and went back out again for more mousies, he had another one within 20 minutes. 2 days ago he ate so many mousies he made himself sick (5 to be exact). DGpa says he's still eating his FF but not as much these days. I should really set my parents up on Skype so I can talk to Leo.
I know I posted last year how Leo and I came to be together but I'll tell y'all again in case you missed it. 13 years ago in June I had just moved out on my own with a long term boyfriend (Leo's daddy) and we knew we wanted a kitty and so did my parents, one fine day my mom called to let me know that one of my dads employees had brought a litter of kittens up to the camp (to dispose of). My dad was a logger back in the day and ran a "bush camp" and my mom always went with him. So my parents being the animal lovers they are were trying find homes for all 3 kittens, my mom said she had the perfect kitten for me and they would bring him back with them when they came home in a few days. So the day came and I waited at home for my new baby, in walked my parents with the dirtiest kitten I ever saw, you literally couldn't tell what color he was and I instantly fell in love when my mom put him in my arms and Leo purred his little heart out and head butted me. She told me that when they were getting ready to leave that morning they noticed the dog chasing Leo around and chased him up a tree, and couldn't find him after that, they figured they would have to wait a week to bring him home to me and packed up and left. They drove in their truck for 90 kilometers down dusty gravel roads and stopped at a gas station for coffee, my dad leaving my mom to wait in the truck, she could hear meowing coming from somewhere and got out to look but couldn't see anything. My dad came out and my mom said "there is a cat somewhere in this truck!!!". My dad opened the hood and there was Leo sitting on the wheelwell under the hood next to the battery and he was filthy dirty from riding there for the last hour, unbelievable that he even survived the whole ordeal!!!! It took a few weeks for my parents to catch Leo's brother Toby who survived by stealing sandwiches from lunches from the men working. My parents kept Toby for themselves and found a home for the last brother with a truckers little daughter.
Kitties!!! It's my birthday today and everyone is invited over to my grandbeans place up in Canada for a party!! Lots of mousies to eat and we can have a BBQ later too. See everyone here later.
