Re: 5/15 Checkers 327+2/306+3/330+6/240
Hi again, Barb,
to answer your comment in Rusty's condo about Canada Drugs Online:
Yes, I have been ordering from them for about 2 years (first Lantus for Stu, now Lev. for Rusty). Their price for the Lev. Flexpens is very reasonable because the Flexpens are made by Novo Nordisk in Turkey. This in itself is fine, since Turkish manufacture is very safe and Turkey is the main supplier for Europe. However, the Flexpens are shipped to you directly from Turkey and they are not wrapped in cool packs in shipment (they explained this to me when I inquired last summer as to why the Flexpens were so much cheaper than the Penfill cartridges). For this reason I pay the extra $ for the Penfill cartridges, which are made by Novo Nordisk in Canada and are shipped wrapped in cooler packs. The cartridges are $160 for a box of 5, whereas the Flexpens are $115.
Perhaps the Flexpens are now being made in Canada (the wording on the CDO website is not conclusive). But I really prefer the cartridges. They are easier to store and I don't like all that pen apparatus. They are really just little vials.
In any event, I have always been satisfied with the service from Canada Drugs Online and I would not hesitate to order from them. You have to open an account first, then they send you an e mail that your account has been opened, then you place the order. They e mail you a cover sheet for your vet to tape the prescription onto and fax back to them (or you can send them the cover sheet with the vet's prescription by regular mail; but if it is faxed, it has to be faxed from the vet's office). Shortly after they get the Rx, they will call you to confirm and then they ship.
Hope this helps. Whenever I have bought Lev. locally (in Flexpens, since you cannot get the Penfill Cartridges in the US), it costs $56. for a single pen at my local Kinneys pharmacy (that's $280 for a box of 5!!!). Even with the $10 shipping fee, I save over $100!
Have fun!
Ella
