Today we switched Taz's snack time from his +3, to his +2. He nadirs around +3, so I figured it's better to have most of his meals before then? He also has a snack at +4.5 and +8.

I've seen him at his water bowl 4 times this morning, so far. He's not guzzling and he's not staying back by it, but it still has me on high alert. He's going back to drink after each meal and I don't remember him really doing that before. I'm definately going to keep an eye on it. He's been eating a bit of fancy feast this week, which has more phosphorus than his Friskies, so maybe I'm just being paranoid. Other than that, he's been getting 1/8tsp miralax every morning, but I don't know if that causes thirst?

Nice blues for Taz. I am not too sure about the drinking, but just keep an eye on it as you said. I get a little concerned any time I see my cats at the water bowl “too much.” I am just paranoid! I know it. I sometimes think the poor things can’t even get a drink without me freaking out. It could be diet? Also, it’s possible it could be the Miralax, which draws water into the intestines and binds it there and prevents it from returning back into the body. Can you add a little water to Taz’s food? Or perhaps you already do this.

Also - does he drink more when his pancreatitis flares up?
He does! That's why I'm watching him like a hawk. We're currently at 2 months without a flare up (knocking on wood). It doesn't seem like he's peeing more than normal, but like you said, anytime they're at the water bowl, it's hard not to get paranoid. I'm thinking that I might try him with more fiber instead of the miralax, just because I personally don't care for daily use of a laxative. But we had a couple of cats in the past that didn't respond to fiber though. I'm just trying to take things slowly right now, and not change too much at once. So I might give it a few days and just monitor for now. I'm thinking that I'm going to change him back ro friskies at his +8 instead of the fancy feast. I'm trying not to cause more stress on his kidneys than necessary.
