Good Morning Everyone,

Stu had a good night (no pounding!!), ate everything in his Automat, and this morning coughed up a nice hairball. Sounds like it might be a good day for him (but he is increasingly annoyed at getting his tests and has developed an "evasion" tactic: he goes to his litterbox to stall!!) All Ps are in place except "playing", which will get going as soon as I finish this post.
We're heading home tomorrow, but first--today--we have a very difficult few hours to get though. One of our very best friends--our across-the-street neighbor for many years when we had our house in Brooklyn--is in hospice care and is not expected to live much longer. We are going to visit her and her husband. I'll take along some photos of Stu. Our friends are cat people and two of Stu's favorite mice are ones that they have given him.
All for now. I'm looking forward to visiting condos in the late afternoon. Everyone have a good Friday!

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232

Glad Stu got rid of that hairball! I hope your visit brings peace and comfort to you and the neighbors. Many peeps are afraid to visit hospice patients so its nice that you are - even if it is hard and sad. Too bad you can't bring Stu to visit. I hope Stu gives you some good numbers today - but not too good - you've got things to do!!

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232

Well, this is a good report for Stu today....and I agree with Joyce that it is nice of you to go to visit....it will be difficult, but it is comforting to them. You will bring tales of Stu and that will be fun for them to experience...right? You are so good Ella....
Now, take care, chin up...have a safe trip back home! :YMHUG:

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232

Glad Stu got rid of the hairball. Maybe he'll be a little less cranky.

I'm sorry about your friend, it's good that you'll have a chance to visit. It would be nice if Stu could go to , but at least you'll have pix. Have a good trip home if I don't get back later.

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232

Stu, my man! What did I tell you about those hairballs! My bean hates them too - I like to do 2, or 3 at the same time - makes her really cranky! She's kinda cool though - I get this really good tasting stuff afterward. She says it's OK that I like it, as it is suppose to be FD friendly. have a good day - are you done camping out, and back home yet? Be good on the road trip home, and no vomiting or anything, OK? I hope you get a window seat!

Mannie

Ella - so sorry to read about your friend - it think it is wonderful though that you are taking time to go visit, with photos of Stu in tow. I believe that it will make a difference. Take care, and have a good, safe, drive home.

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232

Stu, Stu what are we going to do with you?! I've got lots of uniforms, errr outfits and I'm sure I can find one to fit you. However, you are not allowed to gack in my pool or condo! I could use a chef, but not if you gack in the food! So, better cut that out if you want to work for me.

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232

I hope you have a safe and pleasant journey back home. It's great that you are going to have the chance to see your friends, although it will be a hard visit. Wishing you and them peace and comfort today.

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232, +2 124, +6 156

Hi again, The visit is over and it was devastating. I hope she'll be crossing the people rainbow bridge soon.

Stu had a big drop at +2, but we're up again at +6. Nothing in his numbers is predictable these days. I'll visit condos later today: the "party room" is in use; some kind of seminar, so I'm ouside on the roof deck, and I can't see the screen of my computer very well.

It is so hard to say goodbye to any one we love, but when she leaves you will be glad for this difficult, but deeply loving visit you made--
Hope she goes peacefully & painlessly!

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232, +2 124, +6 156

Sorry to hear about your friend. It's so hard to see, I hope for a peaceful crossing for her.

Re: 5/14 Stu AMPS 232, +2 124, +6 156

That's some nice numbers from Stu today. Sorry about the testing issues. I've noticed Blackie is not quite as easy as he used to be too. I think these two are in cahoots.

I'm very sorry about your friend. I hope you have a nice visit with them.

Thank you all for such concern for our friend and for your kind and comforting words. They mean a lot to us. Today was a tough one. When you see someone you love almost totally gone and are powerless to do anything for her. . . At least we were able to help her husband a bit, and we saw her brother, who is being a terrific help to the family. Their cats are bewildered.

I was going to visit a few more condos tonight, but the probability that we will never see our friend again has put a damper on my spirits (I was better this afternoon and did get to a few condos). So I'll just let you all know that I won't be posting again until tomorrow afternoon or evening (Saturday). We are leaving for home right after breakfast. See you tomorrow.

Ella & Stu (who can now add being too hot to his list of annoyances: it is very warm and muggy this evening--typical NYC summer weather!)

I'm sorry Ella...I know that was so hard and heart breaking for you. It meant the world to her..and you have to know she felt you there one way or another. As bad as it feels it was a gift & as well to her family. I love that they are 'Cat people'..as we all know the best kind. ;-)

Sounds like you had a full week and hope you had a great time at the opera. I need to read back to see..maybe you reported and I missed it. Hope Stu does good on the way home and doesn't puke at the usual curve (it's a curve right? ... a mountain?)

Safe travels,

betty

I am sorry, Ella. I know how difficult today has been for you. Your visit more than likely meant the world to her, and her family. There is good there.

I wish you a safe journey home. And a good journey for Stu. You live on a mountain - did I read that right? Sounds marvelous, even if the curve makes Stu sick. Mannie says HI STU!, breathe deep, stay low with paws over the eyes, and maybe you won't puke. :-D
