She's been running higher the last couple of days, but an increase isn't on the books until I find out if my dad needs surgery as I'll need to drive to where my folks live to drive my mom where the surgery would be. Today I need to run into work for a meeting at +3, but then I'll be home the rest of the day. I went ahead and fed her 7% at +2 just in case as I might not be home until +5 or so.

I hope folks have a good Tuesday.

Sending lots of support and love your way, Alicia. Wishing your Dad and Mom well and Kit cat too, of course. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good meowning Alicia and sweet KitKat!

I hope all goes well for your dad. Must be a stressful time for you.
I trust Kit will surf safely while you're away today.
Wishing you a nice day.

So, they did an x-ray this morning - it is less blocked. They're hoping that with the continued nose tube thing and getting him up and walking that the blockage will resolve itself. They are giving him a contrast to drink today and will re-xray tomorrow morning. They think they might be able to get him back on soft foods today? Maybe. But it's a waiting game.

The other thing I learned - if he has to have heart surgery, it might conflict with my sister's hip surgery. So I offered to either come to Nebraska to help take care of my nephew, or bring him back to Wisconsin for a couple of weeks. He's 5, and he's never been that far from his parents for that long. He's stayed with my folks, but they live close enough that they could pop back up if he wanted to see mom and dad. So we'll see how that goes. I may end up going back to Nebraska regardless if/when dad has heart surgery, and I might have to think about taking Kit if it looks like it might be longer than a week. Lots of stuff up in the air at the moment.

I appreciate all the support!

I know I broached vacation doses in yesterday's thread, but now the question is - if I don't need to leave tomorrow, should I be looking at increasing? I wouldn't be able to tonight or tomorrow morning, because I won't be able to find out the status until after morning xrays, but could as early as tomorrow night if I don't have to leave. We saw limes on the 9th, but that was 10 cycles ago, and we haven't had great cycles (I'm including the current one) for the last 4 or so, and she seems to be trending higher each cycle. Thoughts?

Hi Alicia,
You are a wonderful daughter and sister!
So many moving parts right now that it must be hard to feel relaxed.
In terms of dose issues, maybe wait a few more days until some dust settles so you know what you will be doing in the next few weeks?
I'll tag @Angela & Cleo @Wendy&Neko

I think I'd wait until tomorrow's AM cycle before deciding if she needs an increase. The other thing to consider - what if things go south and you do have to leave. Do you want that even larger depot hanging around?

Oh, for sure - this would be a case of not happening until at least tomorrow night, at the earliest. Just preparing for the possibility, and only if I don't have to leave.

Hi Alicia,

I'm the only one without kids, and the one that, even with Kit, it's easiest to do something last minute. My older sister also offered the option that either she and her 15 year old, or her husband and the 15 year old, could fly out to drive mom. But the 15 year old has major anger and violence issues right now, and my sister is a bit of a narcissist. And her husband isn't really close to my parents, so it wouldn't be a comfort to my mom. So, that means me. Which I'm fine with, especially since it's been 10 months since I've seen my folks. But also I don't want my parents to have to deal with that drama.

Hu Alicia, I'm so sorry you are dealing with all this, between your sister and your dad. You are a wonderful daughter and sister.
I hope everything will turn out ok with your dad and he won't need surgery.
Seems like everything hit the fan at once .
Please keep us updated when you can
Sending lots of positive vibes :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yeah, it's been a rough week and a half.
As of tonight he still has the nose tube, which I think means he's not allowed to eat food yet. We should find out in the morning if the blockage is cleared enough that he won't need surgery. He has been able to pass gas this evening, and that's good. I don't think he's had a bowel movement yet though, and if that happened I think he would be even better?

Oh I'm so sorry to see all you are dealing with! Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers. :bighug: So much to juggle, and the Kit Cat too- please remember to take care of yourself through it all. :bighug:
Thanks! I'm still relatively tangential, so it's all mental for me at the moment. I'm probably gonna hide away in a book for a while today, and Eric took the day off and we might go see a movie this afternoon while we wait to hear if surgery is a go.
