Good morning.

Mikan surprised me last night. She was 206 at +2. I thought she would be high enough that I didn't test her again until +4, only to find out that she dropped down to 44
I know the hindsight is always 20/20, but I should have tested her at +3 I mean, I could have - I was right there in the house. We had my stepdaughter visiting and I was enjoying myself too much - I felt so guilty that I didn't do it.

She is starting high this morning again. Could I have prevented this bounce? I wish I knew!

Morning Kit, Looking at her SS from last night I would have thought Mikan would have been high enough @+2 myself and would have waited to test @+4.
You have nothing to feel guilty about at all. I'm glad you had a nice time with your stepdaughter, you deserve to let lose sometimes
Mikan will be back to business in no time, we all know that

This morning Tyler woke me up at 4:30 to eat
I should just get a blow up bed, put it in the kitchen and sleep there, at least I can just roll over and open the fridge to get his food out

Good morning, Kit, I’m so glad you had a nice Mother’s Day and your stepdaughter came to visit. That’s very sweet.
As for Mikan, that was a heck of a gift at +4 last night, yikes.
I would’ve thought at +2 you were safe to coast as well. It seems like most of us here would’ve done the same thing.
Of course she’s got to react to that cycle from last night, so it’s not unexpected this morning. You know she’ll come down so just get ready. Hopefully gently.

I don't know what got into her to pull a stunt like that!

Really! Quite a mother's day's gift at +4 last night! I couldn't believe my eyes and I re-tested both with FSL and AT3. AT3 (feline specific) was 77 so roughly corresponding to FSL 44.
It wasn't a dangerous number but the sharpness of the drop really scared me. I was glad to see that Mikan held it there - but of course, she trampoline-jumped later
I hope she will give me an easier day!

Man, those hindsight moments really reach out and whack you - but as others have said, I probably would have skipped the +3 test (and did this morning, although there wasn't quite as much of a drop, still a surprising one for me). You're doing so much, and it's understandable that you wanted to take that moment based on what you knew. And sometimes, those little stinkers are just gonna do whatever they want.

I wish I could go back in time and redo the +3! Or I wish Mikan's fur color changed when she was dropping fast.
It's one thing if I were out and couldn't have tested anyway. It really kills me that I WAS HOME, right there and I could've easily tested her!

This morning, she had a similar preshot and +2 but didn't go down too fast at +4. What gives
Hopefully, she got the drama thing out of her system for now.

Mikan surprised me with a green start for the evening 66mg/dL.
I have an evening meeting - it's zoom but still will be hard to test her too often.
She has a repeated history of dipping too low when she starts low, so I opted for a reduced dose, 2.75U instead of 3.25U.
Hope this tames her potentially wild ride this evening
