I was hoping her numbers would be a bit lower by now. But at least we haven't seen any red for a few days.

She nearly fell off the dry food wagon last night. She spotted the bowl of dry food under my desk and couldn't get there fast enough. Turns out she prefers corn and red and yellow dye. Before Grain's just not her cup of kibble. She ate a couple of pieces and left the bowl in disgust.

My new favorite Kitty thing is watching her drink water. She dips her paw into the bowl and licks the water off her paw. Very cute...

She's planning to go to an adoption show on Sunday. Wish us luck!

Any chance of a curve and some additional PM spot checks? You're seeing some mid-cycle blues which is great. It would be helpful to know when the Lantus onset and nadir are as well as what's going on during the PM cycle.

Her ears are too sore for a curve right now. She doesn't get her shot until 10 pm, so pm spot checks would really be at the end of the am cycle. I do sometimes test her before I go to bed though.

Good luck at the adoption event!! Show well Miss Kitty.

Just to let all know that Kitty is a DCIN-sponsored foster. The sooner we can get her a purrmanent home, the sooner DCIN can help other diabetic cats in need.

Why are her ears still so sore? Is it normal for that to go on for so long? Seems like most kitties get used to it and start bleeding well in a couple of weeks.

And Good Luck at the adoption show!

Maybe our Kitty has unusually sensitive ears. ??? She was fine for a long time, but I tested her a lot for a few days, and now her ears are sore again. Triple antibiotic cream with pain relief doesn't seem to help her much. I used to put calendula ointment on Little Gray's ears, and I need to get some for her.

Hopefully that will help! I've heard good things about calendula. Poor girl =( Tugger just got so used to it that he doesn't even flinch anymore and will just sit there purring waiting for the FDCC that he knows it coming after ;) Though I am noticing now that we're not testing very often, he's starting to flinch again. I wonder if they build up a tolerance when it's happening often and then as the testing tapers so does the tolerance?

Calendula ointment (not cream) is wonderful. It eases the pain and makes the blood pool, like Vaseline does.

She just had a chance meeting with Honey Cat in the kitchen. She hissed, Honey gave her that surprised "What exactly is your problem" look, and they both went their separate ways. I wouldn't adopt her to a home with as many cats as this home has, but I think she would work things out with one or two.
