I'm looking forward to starting the morning seeing yellow some day! Some day soon! :)

No neck massage for me this morning, but, thanks to Pumbaa, I got a good morning workout chasing him around the house to get him tested. ~O) had to wait. I love seeing him racing around like this in the morning again!

I consider myself very lucky. I've always added water to my boys' canned cat food, and now even more so. And they always lap up all of the liquids before they eat what is left over, so I get to add even more water if they haven't finished everything. At least I know they are getting enough fluids! Thank you, boys!

Update @10:30 pm: After being up in the 300's all day today, that was some dive to 140 tonight at the +4. Looks like I'm not going to bed early, as planned. He's eating now, but I want to check him again in 2 hours and make sure he didn't dive further. I expect a bounce in the morning, but pray he doesn't bounce all the way up to black again.

Just learned something new, once again, by reading lots of other posts. I have had a lot of questions about what constitutes a bounce, since I thought it was a very high number following an unusually low number, indicating that the liver dumped sugars into the system because it was shocked by the low number. But tonight, I read this by happenstance on another thread, and I'm going to go back and review Pumbaa's SS in light of this info:

We don't consider a number a bounce until it is 12 hours after the shot.

Does everyone agree with this? I just want to be able to decipher what I see on Pumbaa's SS and make some sense of it all! :)

12:25 a.m.: Pumbaa keeps diving. I got home before +4, and he was snarfing down food when I was in the kitchen. I put parmesan on his food to make sure he kept eating, and just gave him some high-protein sardines (packed in water, no salt) for a treat when I did the +6 test. He's acting normal/feisty/active, but I'm concerned with these dropping numbers. I've never seen him dive like this before!

1:21 a.m.: the +7 reading was 126, which could also be either 151 or 100 (with the +/- 20% meter factor). But I am going to assume that he is now going up, and not still dropping, so that I can get some sleep. Pumbaa's behavior has been wonderful during all this. He's frisky, feisty, running around full of energy, and ran into the litter box to avoid me for this last test, and both peed and pooped. And, I know he's been eating high-protein/low-carb food since before +4 tonight.

Now, I need to sleep. As I need to be up in just over 4 hours to start this routine again.

I wish I was younger! I'll be dragging my ass all day tomorrow getting this little sleep.
