We are feeling a little better today.
:-D
Last night my vet tech came over and he got another hygine shave and needed it, and a butt washing. I think his UTI is from the gummy stuff around his boy stuff. Maybe? Clean now.

Getting our insulin and our ABS. I just have not bothered him with BG preshot. I am very sure he is not too low. We are on 6a-2p shift and a reduced dose 5 am/ regular 5pm
Gonna get back on that this evening. His coat seems pretty nice too.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and support. Just get a bit frustrated at times.

I did not catch the injured feral as of yet. He is getting ABS and double doses when I don't see him for a day. He jumps over the trap but won't go in it. There are just some that do not comply :( But on a good note, his hanging skin seems to be drying up and the outer part of the wound seems to be scabbing. I think if I continue to medicate him, he may just make it.

Wow that is awesome what you are doing for the feral.

Do you have a farm store near you? There is a product called Vetericyn for open wounds which I highly, highly recommend. I have a few chickens which were free range. One got attacked by a dog and another by an opossum. Both chickens had open wounds, one inch square plus puncture wounds on the dog attack victim and a three inch long, one inch wide open wound on the opossum victim. I secluded them and twice daily sprayed this stuff on the wounds. Within days they looked 10 times better and over about 3 weeks healed over.

It is a micro-diluted bleach for lack of better explanation, but it is so safe you can spray it in your eye. Seriously. So if you catch him, you could just spray it right at his face. It is safe for all animals. I would even use it on myself after seeing what it does. It cleans and disinfects the wound, amazing stuff.

Here it is on Amazon if you can't get it locally. http://www.amazon.com/All-Animal-Wound-Infection-Pump/dp/B0045DDN1G?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20

Nice that the vet tech could come over and help with the hygiene issues. You are doing very well for him with his frustrating habits and your work schedule. Just hang in there.

Glad to hear the feral is healing. You can only do what he will let you do.
