Yesterdays condo

Marshmellow was 111 at PMPS yesterday and I questioned whether I should feed a MC food rather than LC. I had to work at 11P (+5) and since I didn't get an answer, I felt safer giving her 11 carb vs her normal 3-7 food. Personally this looks more like a bounce to me, but since I was unable to get any other readings, it's hard to tell...still new at this game!

The higher number could be food influenced from the higher carb food. It could be a bounce or a little of both. It's all a learning process. Make sure you note on her SS what you fed so you can look back and see how she reacted. I hope she slides down today.
 
I agree with Carla. It's probably a little of both. It looks like she had a late nadir yesterday and was probably going to come up anyway, and the food may have helped it go a little bit higher.
 
Thank you both. If I didn't have to work, would have fed her LC and monitored.

Looking at her ss, it does appear quite often she has late nadirs, but not always. I will start marking down what she is fed so I can better tell if it is her or the food. Also, if she is having late nadirs, would giving a few tablespoons of LC around +4-5 help flatten the drop?
 
Thanks, we'll see where she goes today, just hit 95:D. I want to see if she will maintain herself first. Her bounce was small with a quick recovery yesterday!
 
Thanks, but big bounce. Is there a way to keep the bounces lower? She seems to rebound well, I just hate seeing huge bounces. Is it all because she hasn't been low in so long?

That's the million dollar question around here. Once they've spent more time in normal numbers, their little bodies will accept it as normal again. Cats bounce until they don't. Getting enough insulin to get them green nadirs consistently will also help the height of the bounce.

Looks like she might be starting one of those bounces again. :rolleyes: Good thing it's night time.
