? 5/12 — Dosing Advise Needed; Increase From .75 To 1 Unit???

Hello everyone and Happy Mother's Day!

I believe that Simmy needs to go back to 1 unit twice a day. He has been on .75 for about 2 months. I started home testing (Chart #2) after his last teeth cleaning (w/ tooth extraction). Before that, I'd been blind shooting at 1 unit twice a day for about 2.5 years. During every vet visit, they would tell me that he is well regulated.

Chart #2 is a continuation of Chart #1. There was a short period of time that I wasn't able to test for a number of reasons and I'm OCD, so I wanted to start w/ a fresh chart. Simmy had his dental cleaning in early March. That's why you see the .5 units and skips.

Thank you so much!

Agreed, Simmy definitely needs an increase. Just to let you know, those of us that look at spreadsheets would prefer to see all of one year on the same chart, worst case on different tabs. I like to see the big picture.

In addition to Wendy's comment, I'm not sure which approach to dosing you're following. You may want to read over the sticky note on dosing methods and pick one and note it in your signature. You typically don't want to be holding a dose for more than several days if your cat isn't in normal numbers. Given what Simmy's numbers are looking like and that you've been holding this dose, it's definitely time for an increase.
