You might want to ask over on Health about how much time you need between stopping the ABs and getting a repeat UA. If it's too soon, you may get a false negative
.

Thanks Sienne. I never thought of that false negative. Her Vet said for me to bring her in two weeks for a urine check, and then a bit later he said 10 days. I made an appt. in 10 days to bring her in to get a urine sample, I wonder if it's too soon. I had a terrible time pilling her this morning. I tried putting the pill in some stringy, soft cheese, but she knew how to spit it out and get around the cheese. It doesn't stick in as well as the pill pocket. The Vet disagreed with me about the pill pocket raising her bg. He said her raised bg was from her visit with the Vet. I don't quite agree with that as the visit was on a Wednesday, and her bg didn't go up until Sunday am. I think it was the infection peaking and diarrhea that spiked her bg. I get the feeling he's irritated with me and Maggie for some reason.

HI ANN AND MAGGIE
I think the pill pocket had a lot to do with it myself. Sometimes vets can be pretty stupid, a spike in bg's does not last 4 days, lol! Sorry you are having trouble pilling her, we used liquid ab so it was pretty easy. At least her numbers are back down to normal. Vet's can be insensitive sometimes it irritates me! Hope you have a nice day!

Hi Michelle,
It's so nice seeing Scrabble's face. I think I should have used the liquid. I think, too, the pill pocket would have spiked her bg. I'm so glad her numbers are back to her normal ranges. I do feel like I'm being a bother to him when I need to call, and that can't be good for me and Maggie. Have a good day and hello to Scrabble.
