Morning LL,

4/24 condo

WCR Sara is doing good. She's been going outside for her little jaunts now that the weather has been warmer. She is a very happy kitty.

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you I lost my dog Spencer last thursday night. Wed night he threw up a couple of times and thursday still wasn't feeling well and wasn't interested in food at all. I thought he was having a flare up of pancreatitis which he was in the hospital for 5 days in feb. Things took a turn for the worse on thursday night. It happened very fast and he died in my arms on the way to the ER. [20 miles] It was the longest ride I have ever had.

His seizures had been getting more frequent. So maybe he had a tumor that had gotten bigger and finally taken him. I can't help feeling guilty that if I had gotten him to the vet earlier or even the day before that he would still be with us.

We will miss you terribly Spencer. I can't believe how quiet a house with 5 cats and 2 other dogs can be.

Sorry I haven't been around much to visit condo's. I miss you all and think of you often.

I'm glad Sara is doing well.

I'm so sorry to hear about Spencer. My heart and prayers go out to you and family. Please don't blame yourself. It's so easy to second guess what we should have done, and just reading about Spencer, you did everything you could with giving him love and quality of life. Hugs.

I am so sorry to hear of Spencer's passing. Do not feel guilty, he knew you loved him and did the best for him.

((((((((Jan))))))))) I wish I could give you a real life hug. I'm so sorry *crying*. He is in a very peaceful place and leaves you behind to grieve his loss. He isn't in pain and he is with you in spirit watching over you. Do try and remember the good times. How he found your family. The love he showered you with and the love you gave him. Unconditional love is something I wish for all animals and their beans and Spencer was loved with all your heart. Its amazingly painful the void they leave behind. They take up a bigger space with their personalities than their bodies did. Someone told me when I got Maverick's ashes back and I was shocked about how small the urn was... the biggest part to Maverick - his personality is not in that urn. He is a free spirit now as is Spencer.

I am so sorry for the lost of Spencer. Please do not feel guilty - you did the best for him. I don't know how you could have done more. I do like what Karrie wrote - they will always be wish us. Remember the good times.

I know how hard it can be when you see your companion in distress, scoop and run to the ER only to lose the companion enroute. It is so hard. Know that Spencer knew/knows how much he was loved. He will be playing with our kitties (and puppies) at the Bridge.

I'm glad to hear that Sara is doing well.

I am so sorry to learn of Spencer's passing. I know that he was much loved in your household and how much he will be missed. He will always be there with you and his fur brothers and sisters. At the Bridge he has joined all of our kitty and puppy GAs in full health and free of ailments and pain. Fly free, dear Spencer. Jan, you did everything you could do. Take comfort in your wonderful memories of your pup. That is a beautiful picture.

I'm so sorry, Jan. His time with you was too short, but you made his life such that he left here feeling loved.
 
oh, jan...so deeply sorry for your loss of Spencer...we raise boxers, and i know just how quickly and totally a Boston can steal a heart.
