Saturday's Condo
Good Morning Everyone! I hope this day finds you well and that you all can find a way to enjoy this unusual Mother's Day. I had planned on going to the beach this morning for a contemplative visit, but it's raining - very lightly - but rainy and grey does not a beach visit make
I'll have to make it another day soon though.
The authorities had to close the city beaches in Naples due to the large crowds - mostly young people who'd driven over from the other side of the state where COVID-19 is very prevalant and they haven't been able to open any beaches yet - not sure what other things may or may not be open but it's unfortunate that they couldn't follow the social distancing guidelines.
There has been a large police/sheriff presence on the beaches - riding up and down in their 4-wheel carts observing for just this kind of behavior. It was obvious why they were there - during 'normal' times you rarely see a police/sheriff officer drive by at all. Occasionally a DNR vehicle will come by but I don't recall ever seeing any other kind of law officer bother to patrol the beaches when I've been there....well, we'll see what they institute next as far as restrictions to local who may wish to use the beaches as to this point - from what I've seen, have been very careful about observing the social distancing restrictions.
At any rate, hopefully it'll get sorted out soon.
