Yesterdays' Condo
We had a bit of excitement here last night. At about +1 or +2, the power in my building sputtered out. There wasn't any stormy weather and given that I live in downtown Chicago, there aren't power lines that are above ground. Within minutes, there were fire trucks, police, and ComEd (although I'd be hard pressed to tell you where the electric company guys were). It seemed like there may have been a trash fire in one of the recycling bins -- I still don't know what the cause of the black smoke billowing out of one of the loading docks was. We were "informed" that we would have power back in an hour. NOT! Almost 8 hours later (3:48 AM) the power came back on waking me and 2 kitties up. As a result of the evening festivities, I wasn't on-line.
Needless to say, both cats were on high alert all evening. Once things settled down, Gabby was rather cuddly all night. She shoved Gizmo away from his bowl this morning deciding she wanted his leftovers since he walked away. He was a rather forlorn kitten when Gabby wouldn't respond to his trying to push her out of the way to finish his breakfast!
