Yesterday's Condo

Well, Gabby decided to be a rainbow kitty -- pinks at yesterday's PMPS and green both yesterday morning and today. It does make me wonder if yesterday morning I gave a fur shot, though.

At the moment, the kitties are glued to the open doors to the courtyard. It's still cool enough this morning to have the doors open but that will change in the next hour or so. There's more color out there but I'm thinking there's still another trip to the garden center in my future. (Maybe some tropical plants that can come indoors for the winter. Gizmo will be able to hide under them and think he's a lion in wait!)

I see that 56, come on up just a bit and surf nicely, Gabby.

Happy Mom's Day, Sienne :)

I'm so glad you all are enjoying your new condo with the courtyard. Would a bird bath attract birds for the kitties to watch? On second thought, maybe you don't want that, as they may hit the glass.

Enjoy your day. I'm out plant shopping too.

The grand plan for the courtyard is a fountain. I have one on order from Restoration Hardware. Who knew they custom fabricate? It will be here in August (although I'm hoping it will arrive sooner). I like the idea of being able to hear the water. And yes, Dyana, I'd prefer to not have birds slamming into the glass. There was a bird in the courtyard the other day. Both kitties honed in like laser tracking systems!!

If you are going to get plants that will later come inside for the winter, make sure they are cat friendly ones.
I was surprised how many plants and flowers are not cat friendly.
Sheba is terrible at eating almost any plant or flower she can get. I have had to make her sick several times after she has got out and eaten something poisonous.
I can't have flowers in the house unless they are cat friendly because Sheba jumps up and eats them

We had to forbid friends from bringing flowers because Stu thought they were for him and would immediately start to eat them! Rusty ignores plants of all types, even catnip!

The patio will be fantastic when the fountain arrives. Restoration Hardware has great stuff.

So far, anything growing in the courtyard has been ignored by both cats.Well, mostly ignored. Gizmo is curious about the herbs. The garden center has a list of all the houseplants that are toxic to cats.

I bet catnip will grow in your courtyard. It even grows in our backyard at our high, dry altitude and survived the 5.6" of May snow we had Friday night. It was Zener's favorite thing in the backyard, he would stick his head in the catnip and the entire bush would shake. He loved it so!

I just love the thought of your enclosed courtyard. How the kitties must enjoy it, and you know they are safe. I'm sure the fountain will be lovely. Maybe you could post a picture for us when it is finally installed?

Gabby, you look lovely in green, but it's Sunday night and I'm sure Mama would prefer not to have a PJ party, so could you bring it up a little, please?
