All I can say right now is OMG.

Had brought Curry into the living room and put her in her crate. Played w/Sid in front of Curry (about 15 feet away) w/Da Bird. Gave Curry her mini-meal in the crate and sat down on the couch to read emails.

I looked up and there was Sid w/in 3 feet of Curry. She had walked from the dining room to the living room where Curry is located. OMG. Sid has tried this numerous times before and Curry would howl. Sid would then walk away.

This time it was different. Curry did a little howl, Sid hissed and then Curry layed down. Awesome. Happy Days. Sid then jumped on this rattan chair right in front of Curry and peered down on her. Curry watched silently.

I caught part of it on video.....I was in shock.....You can hear the amazement in my voice....

Cute video Tena....LOL....I think playing a little "Kumbaya" in the background would make it perfect! Uh, I mean "purrfect"! LOL...Good luck! tiny steps are needed along the road.....progress is sweet!

YAY!!!! Happy days!!!!

This is o cool - I loved the video - you can hear the excitement, happiness in your voice. I do so hope this is the beginning of good days for both of them - together. Paws crossed that it continues. SWEET!

Not yet. They do "eat together" for their morning meal and evening meals. They are about 3-4 feet apart. At that time, Sid is in place eating and so is Curry....then I lift the towel so they can see one another.

The challenge lately has been getting Curry use to Sid approaching her or approaching near her. Its taken about 3 weeks of Curry getting use to Sid in the living room. Today was the FIRST time Sid approached and Curry was able to tolerate it. After Curry is comfortable w/Sid approaching I can then use tuna to entice them to get a little closer. Thanks for the tip....will have it in my back pocket for future use. :mrgreen:

What I did differently this morning was put on Curry's harnass. I usually don't but decided that in the last phase of exposure therapy Curry will need to be use to her harness while I have her on the leash around Sid. Not sure if it was the harness today that kinda subdued her or something else. She won't tell me. :lol:

Attie did the harness thing around Gary for only 3 summits. The harness does subdue a little bit, but Attie was still curious enough to wander up to Gary.

Curry has decided to change her lowest nadir back to the morning slot. I preferred the evening when I was home to monitor it. This week since I'm home I can watch her. Oh well. Also can't play w/her in the morning now since it drops her bg into the 40's.

I had started giving her the Halo chicken treats....she gained some weight in the last 2 weeks. Then noticed that the Halo treats were marinated in sodium.....Then me being me...I tasted one of them....a bit dry and definitely salty. Wonder if it had caused her blood pressure to go up recently..that can also make a kitty a bit pissy....she had her blood pressure checked when she first attacked Sid...it was normal then.....so I've stopped giving those Halo treats...added a little extra water to her meals.....Gonna look at the ingredients of the PurBites...don't think it has salt in it. Had been using the Stella and Chewy's chicken treats but those are expensive.

Pat: When we have peace in the Gardiner household I'm putting together a video....might use "Kumbaya". :lol:

Michelle: I was so frustrated yesterday...Curry's behavior didn't seem be changing....maybe even getting worse. I was so shocked when I looked up there was Sid sitting pretty. I'm still amazed it happened. We are going on almost 4 months now since the incident.

Beth: I've been very intersted in reading about your kitties and how you are working w/the controlled exposures. It gives me some hope.

Roni: I'd settle for the two of them just tolerating one another again. I'm so proud of Sid for being so persistent with her attempts to approach Curry. I've seen her try it daily now for the past week. She is just dying to get back to the way things were in the past. She even goes over to Curry's isolation room and peeks through the towel at Curry occasionally.

Karrie: Thanks. When this finally resolves itself I'll have tears of joy...and a video.

Iorwen: Thanks. Curry being able to tolerate Sid's approach this morning was just amazing.

Wow!! They are getting closer and closer. So happy that things are moving in the right direction. I see wonderful things happening in the near future.
