Good Morning LL! Kind of a easy day yesterday, blues in the morning sneaking into the yellows in the afternoon and evening. Sorry to have gotten to so few condos, I'm playing catch-up around here.

Interesting on the Arkray Vital meter. Most of the tests were a little lower, but not evenly so. I found the thickness of the strip made it a little difficult to position to sip the blood drop. I suppose it's something you get used to. What I would really need to get used to is that the strip is inserted on the bottom. I kept holding it w/ the strip up and some of the upside down results were very interesting! :roll:

Speaking of meters, who uses the WaveSense Presto? Barb, I think? I was looking at reviews of the Target Up & Up meter and found out that is is the Presto , just store branded for Target. Nice to know that there is another meter w/ reasonably priced retail strips.

Almost there blue, Tess, keep coming on down. Are tou thinking of switching meters, Ann? I may have missed some condos. Have a nice day, cloudy down here but nice temps.

Ann, are you thinking of changing meters. I use the ReliOn from Walmart, and I think it's the same meter (ReliOn is made by Arkray). I like mine, doesn't need much blood at all.

Oh Tess! What are you doing in pink? I have found that I will get a fat strip every now and then that makes it impossible to sip. Hope she comes down for you but not too fast Tess!

Ann, the Wavesense is my favorite. The results come up very quickly..uses only a teeeny bit of blood.
I get the strips from Amazon for around $15 per 50 count bottle. It comes from different vendors. I buy from the cheapest with free shipping.
The Relion is backup. Strips cost more, but I can run to Walmart in a pinch.

Tess got a little upset when we were both getting ready to go out at lunch to see my mom. I hope this is just stress. She got very cuddly and napped w/ me when we got home :lol: :lol: Funny Ella, I think. :? :lol: :lol:

Ann and Barb, I'm looking for a new backup meter, they've discontinued the Maxima meter, but are supposed to keep making the strips. But last time I ordered the Maxima strips direct from the company, they were back ordered. nailbite_smile

So the search is on again. It would be nice if strips were available retail for emergencies without costing an arm and a leg. Both the Relion and the WaveSense Presto fill the bill there, the WaveSense is sold at Target under their Up & Up brand, also apparently at Kroger as their house brand. I've got the Arkray Vital (same as the Relion Ultima) as a backup now, but yesterday was the first time I tried it. The price for the strips from ADW $11/50, is as good as I get on the Maxima and I don't have to buy a full case (24 boxes) at a time. I'd been wondering about the Target meter after I saw it there, the strips are slightly more but it has good reviews.
