Me again!!
Frustrated doesn’t begin to cover it. Following the protocol so after the 35 last night I reduced again. Seems like every time I get a reading in the 30s it’s when it’s a really late nadir that carries over into the next cycle.
When I see that is the cause should I still reduce based on a single reading in the 30s or stay on the dose a bit longer and monitor closely?
Her Nadirs are late on Lev and sometimes after +12 It’s on those days she seems to end up in the 30s - a combo from previous dose carry over and onset of next dose.
Right now I’m going back and forth between 3.5F and 3.75 and still can’t get it “good”
Still thinking maybe I should go back and give Lantus another try. Although i didn’t work it quite right the first go around it had an earlier onset and earlier nadir for the most part. But who knows what will happen if I switch back and actually do it correctly.
Is it detrimental to any progress to keep switching insulin’s? While I’d like more sleep with an earlier nadir that Lantus may bring, I don’t want to set her back months again by switching.
When I switched from Lantus to Lev- I started the dosing way too low. I wouldn’t do that this time. I’d probably start her off pretty close to the existing Lev dose and watch her like a hawk for a while.
Would appreciate any and all thoughts/ advice or anyone that would care to hit me in the head with a frying pan so I don’t have to do it myself!!!
