I think we had a little bounce this morning! He dropped pretty fast last night so I fed him some food in between testings. Do you think this spike is because of that drop? Do you think he will get used to this dose and quit bouncing?

Vet day today!!! Hope to hear some positive news!! Have a great day everyone!

Re: 5/1/2014 Georgie AMPS 471

It looks like he's bouncing of that 84 at +5. I usually give my sugar a snack between his PM +5 and +6 so that he won't drop so low and then bounce the next day. His snack is Wellness Core, Grain Free Turkey and Chicken and Liver ,which is 8% carb, to ward off a low.

Also, I usually keep Alska on a new dose for at least 10 days. It takes him that long to settle into it. Some cats take less time. The ultimate goal is to get a flatter cycle. It looks like Georgie might still be in new dose wonkiness mode.

Yep he's bouncing off that fast drop last night. He will eventually stop bouncing and settle. Some cats are just bouncy and bounce until they quit. Since we know this dose gets him to green I'd just leave it alone and ride out the bounces. Hopefully he has a liver that is a fast learner.

So I had a pretty good +7 reading at 192 and a +9 at the vet's office. I know it's early but I think this dose may be getting him where he needs to be. The vet said all his levels seem normal except for the high bg reading. I could have swore something was off because of the progression of his legs but I guess it must just be all those high numbers. I will scan the chart and post it on the site tomorrow. The vet also said he gained a pound- which is not good but he said it is good that he has the possibility of gaining weight. He lost a ton of weight prior to his diagnosis so although it's not good news it is sort of good news. Portion control little Georgie!

Did the vet say anything regarding the legs weakness? There are some supplements for that, but I cant think of the names. One is a form of Vitamin B-12 and the other begins with a Z. Ill try to find out and let you know. Good to see the lower numbers anyway!

Re: 5/1/2014 Georgie AMPS 471, +7 192 PMPS 520

Yes I asked him. I asked what it would cost to get B-12 shots and he said he didn't believe they worked. Georgie is on Zobaline which is a form of B-12 but I think I need to get his levels right consistently for there to be any progress. I really wish there was something else I could do! I am doing some research about B-12 injections at present. Many have told me that it has worked wonders and I have also heard from many who say their vets don't believe in it at all.

Had a huge spike tonight, his PMPS was 520 and I am pretty certain it is because of the stress from the vet. I really have faith in this 1.25 dose and my vet said it seemed like a good one too.
