? 5/08/2015 Dosing Advice

So I moved the does up to 1.5 units and it seems like his bg isn't any better this morning. I know I am supposed to hold for 3 cycles but shouldn't it be lower? It was 287 this morning.

I agree with Rhiannon. It's not uncommon to have blood sugar actually go up after a dose increase - we call that New Dose Wonkiness and it can last a day or two before you start to see the effects of a dose increase.

You want to give it 3 DAYS = 6 cycles, before re-evaluating the dose and seeing if you need to increase it again or if you need to hold it longer. Try to get a pm cycle test in - even though it looks like he's all yellow, he may have lower numbers at nights. Many, many cats do. I'd get one test at the last minute before you go to bed.

I am glad I checked this. His number are higher now. Will still post for advice, I have been going 1.5 for over 5 cycles and still not going down.
