That was the right call. Unless you see black, I'd stay on 1u for another couple days so that you have several days of numbers for people to look at before advising. It will take a few doses before Chocolate gets used to the PZI, I think. You'll also see a slower drop than what you're used to seeing with H. But it will also stay in Chocolate's system longer too. You'll see nadir around +6 most likely. If you test at +8 or +10 and the number has really climbed quickly during that period, that could be an indication that the dose is too small. When (if) you need to increase, you want to do so slowly (like .5 a day max). Think not only in units per day, but in percentages when adjusting doses. If you on a 1u BID routine, and you jump to 1.5 BID, it's actually a 50% increase in insulin per day. That's a pretty big increase.

Oh, the other thing I'd do...
If you haven't yet, start posting in the PZI group forum. There are not a huge number of people that do, but those that post there do so every day, and they are very willing to help, especially new PZIers. A couple of them are on a TID dosing schedule which is very interesting to observe.
