434 PMPS!

I have no idea how skittles did this but today he actually got the top off of my sealed container and got into my dog's food and I do not know how much he ate and now his BG is 434 !
I had moved him down to 1/2 U because a whole unit really made him drop fast so I didn't know what to do with this high number but I want to head and gave him a half maybe I should've given him a whole I don't know. Last year when he got into it he only got up to the mid 200's ( this happened when he was in remission) after that time he got into it I completely started keeping it in a different container in a different area and today he got into it again but the 434 shocked the crap out of me here is a little bit of what his days have been looking like seems like the one unit has been really dropping him and then he'll go a full cycle without meaning it is just up-and-down with him right now any help would be very very grateful Oh and I forget he still scheduled to get his teeth fixed the end of February I'm not sure how it's going to help financially I still trying to work something out and on top of his teeth my tooth broke completely off and My Dental care is 1500 just to do the root canal and then I have a different doctor that will do the crown and the 1500 is my co-pay , and get this the dentist started doing the route now and he said that he was going to put some medicine in the twos and that she staying there for three weeks before anything can be done anyway so we put a temporary filling in well
A lot of things happen during this visit that I was not comfortable with morning sample the Dennis and the nurse talking about me as if I were not even there talking about how bad my breath had to use now when I was talking to people that was very uncomfortable and they They just carried on a conversation about me with me sitting right there and I had to constantly keep putting my hand up because she was not suctioning the water out fast enough and twice I felt like I was getting ready to drowned finally I told her to stick the suck device and the Suction device in the back of my throat and leave it there I could deal with that I cannot deal with you letting it get built so far up with water that I thought I was going to drown. I am so sorry that I I did that it just if I get very upset with the way I was treated for my tooth and I have never been back to that place and now come to find out I still had the temporary Filing and my tooth I really babied it and took good care of it because I needed to find a different dentist who would take over that care and get the tooth fixed my only problem is my insurance only allows me to see a very small limited place because of this town if I lived in a bigger town they would be bigger and better opportunities so Saturday I was gently trying to clean my broken tooth that has my temporary filling and I all of a sudden saw something I've never seen before so I look closer It is a piece of medical gauze! This gauze has been in me for over two years and I have been so sickly. We'll talk about that later we can talk about it personal message but right now I'm here to talk about schedules

PMPS 243 but my gut told me to,wait. 30 mins later my daughter comes home and she had given him a little bit of food she didn't know that I was going to test him and that I don't let him eat two hours prior to testing . So I waited and then did him again and his level was at 175 so he would have gotten her unit based off the 243 reading because he Was given food my mistake ( her cat was hungry and yes they do eat together except for when it is time for testing and she didn't know it and she didn't know that I had changed the testing time and didn't have a chance to tell her yet so that is all on me )
So I'm going to rewrite that one but wanted you guys to know what had happened and if you agree

He got into the food after his morning dose at 11:40 so I waited about an hour to test him what you just so happen would have been five hours since his a.m. Shot and he was 112. Then I didn't want to wait too much longer so I waited about an hour and 45 minutes and tested him again and he was on the rise At 163. And now 434!

Should I have given him one unit instead of the 1/2 u? I can go,give another half if needed

Just seemed like 1 un was,to,strong . Let me update his SS and see what y'all think!
 
I think you did well to go with the 1/2 unit. The dog food will raise his BG but it will be temporary. Stay with the 1/2 U for at least a couple more cycles till you can see if his BG doesn't drop back down. I'm betting it will.:)

Your dentist sounds like a nightmare from he**! Is he the one who left the gauze in your mouth??? Don't try to remove it yourself, find another dentist and have him remove it. If it's been there for two years it has essentially become part of your body now, and may need surgical intervention to remove! You should also get as many good pictures of it as you can, both in place and once it is removed. If you have been sickly, and have had problems with bad breath and other dental issues, that gauze is probably the cause!

Yes I have been very sickly especially here lately and it was a God awful smell coming from that to that made me take a really good look at it and that's when I can see the material hanging out of it and I was freaking out and I guess first you have to now I am the type of person that takes pictures of everything And I mean everything before during and after, I have somebody here replacing the roof I have pictures of them starting it took pictures of everything you can think of but yet when I saw that gauze I blanked I did not get pictures of it in my tooth but it just hanging there smelling rotten so I got a tweezer and I finished pulling it out but I don't know if I got it all. And then it left a huge hole in my tooth because they had drilled out the area so ,so I went to the drugstore and they have stuff that you can use one of our filing falls out so I used it because I couldn't leave my tooth like that on a Saturday night with all the dentist) closed and I wasn't in any pain so I didn't want to go to the emergency room when they're already charging me over 1800 to finish the Root canal , and then sending me out to another dentist to do a cap , that the $1800 would not have covered. I have said many times I have extremely bad luck. And the reason why I never went back to him to begin with was because of the way they were talking about me with me sitting right there but if he had told me that he had put A piece of cloth in there I would have done something about it, I had no idea whatsoever that that was in there and I have been feeling sickly for over a year and doc couldn't find the reason why

I am so glad you agreed with me keeping schedules at a half a unit because I too think it's due to him getting in the dog food, and I still in shock because I have no idea how he can figure out to get inside the dog food sealed plastic bowl !

When I give him one unit it seems to drop him down pretty fast or at least I think so I have everything on my spreadsheet but here are some examples on the way his numbers dropped so quick do they look normal, these are just two days that I pulled off of my chart in random order

His pancreas seems to help out a lot too so I think the 1/2 unit was a good call. His body might respond to the increase and the food to help get it down lower. I agree the 1 unit could have dropped him too quick or too low.
I'm sorry about your dental problems. Sucks when they just don't give a d*mn. BTW at that price it MIGHT be worth looking into a dental implant. Good luck and definitely request your records and report to the proper dental association or whatever it's called.

His pancreas just can't make up its mind, he went into remission for over a year ( was DX in Oct 2015, went into remission Dec 2015 ) and fall out when he got a infected tooth in Jan 2017, but he seems to need insulin only every other day. He was supposed to get the tooth removed next week, but now with my broke tooth .....
and yes , I do think u are right about me and a dental implant. I hoping my disability is approved very soon and I can get us both dental work done, especially skittles because I'm scared the longer his goes the more chance he has of never going into remission again . For now I went to Walmart and got this stuff that makes a temporary filing for my tooth. Now I just hope my tooth doesn't get infected, but I think it already is because it hurts! Feels like I can feel my heart beating in it . I seriously have very bad luck !

Clove oil might help with that. I had a dry socket once and it was treated with clove paste on strips of some sort of cloth strips.
I thought Mr.P was coming back with Chuck for a bit and I still wonder if he's trying because he was on 6 units to get into the yellows and sometimes blues. Now he's getting yellows and blues on a 5ish unit dose. One thing I think I will never understand is the on/off activity of the pancreas!

Try putting the dog food containers inside the oven if you can. I would like to see your kitty try and open an oven door.:D
 
Smoky is getting a shot break this morning. He is stressed from the move and one of our civvie cats kept me up half the night.:(On top of that I have to go in for two hour orientation from 8 to 10 am for my new job. It really sucks because this would have been my regular day off today from my old job. I would have liked to be able to sleep in today.:eek:
I have to meet guy from fios to install cable service from 11am to 3 pm today.
I need a break I think.:banghead:
Just ranting again.:p
