Re: BUD 4/26 AMPS +9 267 1.0u

At very well at breakfast. Plate was empty. I put out more and she ate a bit.

+2.5 367
+ 5 197

will test again @ +7 or +6 if she looks 'funny'

Re: BUD 4/26 AMPS +9 267 1.0u

The 400 she had tonight is classic rebound. And yes, it can happen after the dip she had today, which was most likely caused by the +9 shot. The rebound occurred not only because of the lows she had yesterday evening but also because she had changes in not only dose, but also time of shots. That throws everything out of whack. The more changes that are made the more the blood glucose response becomes unpredictable. Levemir likes predictability - that means a regular dose at a regular time.

I can write more about this tomorrow AM, but have to go to bed. I'm glad you went back to the 1U dose though.

Re: BUD 4/26 AMPS +9 267 1.0u

I don't think the picture is so complicated right now that you have to test too often -- the pattern is pretty lucid. The 400s is rebound, and Buddy's a cat that obviously sets up repeated visits to the high side (what I call asymmetrical rebound) for an unexpected visit to the greens. Hindsight is perfect, but probably the time to reduce was not just now, but on the PM cycle of 4/19, when you saw that 79 -- and the reduction could have been gentler, i.e., not all the way to 1u from 1.25u. That need to reply to a lone 79 with a reduction is a highly individual prescription -- but Buddy has shown that she has this extreme snap back and that would have avoided the scarier numbers a few week later which resulted from your (understandable) failure to take the hint on 4/19.

In general, you are now bracketing Buddy's dose.. just finesse those decreases more. You are doing great.
