there is no dry food in the house. even when i finished my glass of milk in bed, I wiped the glass out until it was bone dry.

I gave her no treats at dinner cuz the salmon cakes had bread crumbs in it. I did give her some canned salmon that set aside before I made the cakes. Zero carbs in the salmon. (I check).

DH will get a +4ish .... somewhere between 9-10pm EDST

Okay on the dry food. I wasn't sure. I thought you had said at some point earlier that you had another kitty that could not tolerate wet food because she threw up.

Well, that would have been an easy solution to today's high jump in numbers. I kind of wish it were so. Sigh from me too.

Good for your hubby getting the late night checks in! I am thinking Bud is going to have a late nadir again tomorrow after that +5 211 tonight. Your DH probably should just shoot the same .75 tomorrow and not react to that one cycle of 400's from this morning.

Those 400's were really unexpected to be sure! That is why I thought the dry food. Maybe her infection is still lingering? Again, maybe her teeth need cleaning?

Things you might talk to your vet about. I am so glad she is so on board with all of this and all the extra that she does with looking at your spreadsheet and giving comments there. What a gem of a vet!

Yes - teeth, definitely -- I have the same potential issue w Tom right now & the vet wants to get him stabilized before the risk of spreading more infection in his blood. Other possibilities - her 4/6 numbers are polarized from 4/4 lows -- i.e., delayed rebound... you see that a lot with some cats: something unusual happens, a few hours of low numbers, and in the third or fourth cycle afterwards, regardless of how the dose has been adjusted, the reverb arrives, the numbers soar. The longer the period between lo and high, the better --like lightning and thunder, the longer the delay, the farther away the storm. And/or the precautionary drop to .75 is low and is drawing down on the balance from the shed. If you hold, it will become more clear.

The longer the period between lo and high, the better --like lightning and thunder, the longer the delay, the farther away the storm. And/or the precautionary drop to .75 is low and is drawing down on the balance from the shed. If you hold, it will become more clear.

I think we all agree on that. The problem was that Beth was going out of town (until the 18th) and depending on a petsitter and her Dh to take over for her. It was a 'safe' dose to revert back to for the time being to see if it would 'settle out'. Her vet is on board and looking in (check her notes in her SS).

Oh I fully understand why it was done and I would have done the same thing, exactly.. even the dose. If I am leaving Tom for any time I do take a precautionary drop.
