Good Morning Everyone, and Happy Friday!
Sorry to say that I don't know what happened after the bg 88 at +4 last night. I had a splitting headache and went to bed! But Stu didn't pound last night, and so I think he slept a lot. He didn't eat any of the food that was out for him until probably early this morning. At breakfast he ate a token amount. He's probably feeling the effects of yesterday. I think I panicked last night when I gave him the 3 teaspoonsful of MC food after getting the 88 reading. It isn't that low a number, just low for him at that time of night. I hope that I didn't mess up a green surf. This morning's 265 is probably a bounce and I am hoping that Stu will cooperate and eat the remaining 3 mini meals at 1-hour intervals. (He shows no signs of cooperating, however!)

Cold, damp, drizzle here this morning. Even Mr. Cat came right back inside after having a look around to make sure he wasn't missing anything. We played briefly with Big Bug and looked for Belle Mouse (but she is hiding somewhere). He's sleeping at the moment, but I'm going to rouse him for a +2.

Thanks to all for helping us the past few days! We are very glad that we heeded the advice and held the 1.25 unit dose!

Guess the high number is from what you fed him last nite--But Ellla, +4 is almost at nadir, of course, these little buggers can drop, but you did what you did to be safe..So dont fret, the one thing about FD, it's always Up and Down :lol: :lol: :lol:

Contrary to what FD kitties seem to think.. humans do need to sleep.. you did the right thing with the MC.. you needed to rest so you can feel better.

If AMPS is a bounce it certainly didn't stick around very long.. hopefully it's a new trend and Stu's liver backs the heck off!

Hi again, everyone.
Stu had a good day today, but I don't think he likes his auto feeder. He left quite a bit of food uneaten until I took it out of the feeder and put it into his dish! What a cat! (We'll see what happens tonight: I'm going to follow Sienne's lead and put out a snack at +9 in the feeder. If he's not asleep, maybe he'll eat it.)

Tomorrow we have to go to the vet for the 3-year rabies shot. Does anyone know if this will elevate blood glucose? (aside from the usual elevation caused by a visit to the vet, that is). I'd be interested to hear any "stories". The last time we had the rabies shot we were not testing, so I have no idea whether or not it affected his bg.

I've not heard anyone mention whether a rabies shot raised BG. Maybe you should pose the question on the Health Board.

8 cycles on 1.25 units... you might want to think about going back to 1.5u in order to bring the whole range down. we never did see what 1.5u could do on it's own... without the residual effects of the higher dose working with it.

rabies vaccines... i have no idea. having inside only kitties, we don't do those anymore.
