Georgia and Simon (GA)

Member Since 2010
Lots of things going on around here today.
Number 1 is that it has been exactly a month since my sweet Cleo crossed over the bridge. Yesterday, I received the memorial stone I ordered for her and will place it on her grave this afternoon. I miss her so much!

Number 2: I am getting Cole (the stray black cat in my backyard) neutered today and also tested and given his shots. Last night, I had to keep him in my downstairs bathroom because I have to leave early with him to go to the clinic. He also couldn't eat after 10:00. This morning, I woke up to the wonderful smell of an un-neutered male who has sprayed all over. My whole house stinks even though he is just in the bathroom. What is the best thing to get rid of the smell?

Number 3: Obviously, Simon is a little upset because of the smell and Cole being in the house. He is hiding under the bed  . I hope that he will be better once I leave with Cole.

I am desperately trying to find a home for Cole. One of my co-workers may know someone that has been wanting a cat. Keep your fingers and paws crossed! I just want to make sure he goes to a good home.

Have a good day -- off to the clinic and then on to work.

Re: 4/9 Simon AMPS 291

First let me say you carry all our hearts with you as you place your memorial stone for beloved Cleo. I know she will be there with you hoping to comfort you.

As to Cole's spraying..no good deed will ever go unpunished. We use Purina hard surface pet stain & ordor elimator. It works well and is quick. When I'm not in a rush, I make a
50/50 solution of white vinegar and water, put it in a spray bottle and spray the area, wipe it down, spay again and let it dry. That works well also. You are so sweet to take care of this little guy. I hope his little procedure goes well and he's done spraying

Will be thinking of you and Cleo today. Many hugs and scritches to you.

Oh NO on the spraying!!! What a time you are having! I hope someone will adopt Cole, and it's wonderful that you are getting Cole all "ready" for his new owners. :-D

I hope getting Cleo's stone and placing it will help give you peace and our prayers to you and your family missing your sweet kitteh.

Re: 4/9 Simon AMPS 291

Sending so many prayers your way, Georgia! I know how much you miss sweet Cleo...

Cole, you little devil, you! What a wonderful thing you are doing for him. Hopefully your co-worker will be able to help you find a good home for him. Poor little guy.

Simon - Cole is just visiting for now. It's OK! Your MamaBean is so generous!!

Please keep us posted!

Re: 4/9 Simon AMPS 291

Hi guys .. I know you miss Cleo, but she is with you in your heart .. Sorry to hear about the spraying  Sounds like cole was making his presence be known .. Simon, don't worry little man, he won't be there long .. Have a great day guys!

Re: 4/9 Simon AMPS 291

 ewwww on the spraying. If only Cole realized what a good thing you were doing for him! I hope Simon gets back to normal once Cole leaves...and once that smell goes away. I don't know what takes the smell out and I wish I had paid better attention to the episode of "My cat from hell" when Jackson Galaxynwas talking to some cat owners about the best product to use...maybe there's some thing on his website?! Idk!

Hope Cole finds a good home like Cleo and Simon found in you! Blessings to you, Georgia, as you remember sweet Cleo! I'm happy the memorial stone arrived. It will be a lovely tribute on her grave. ((Hugs))

Cole is back from the vet. He seems ok from the neutering and just wanted to eat. He peed in the carrier and my car smelled lovely on the way home. BW showed everything normal and he does not have any infectious diseases. He did have an infected toenail so I'm giving him AB's for a week. Also some deworming med that I have to do. Hopefully, he will not mind. He still smells pretty bad and I really hope it starts going away now that he is neutered. It isn't even his urine -- it seems to be just him giving off this smelly smell. It will be hard to find a home for him if it continues.

Simon is acting a little strange about Cole but he did eat his food down near where Cole is and is investigating a little more. Hopefully, a good sign.

Big hugs to you Georgia! So nice that you got Cleo's stone. ((((Hugs))))

On the spraying, oy! I know what you are going through. Tarragon was a sprayer and he was neutered as soon as he was old enough. He only sprayed on carpet so we now have tile and hard wood everywhere. :? The carpet was terrible when we pulled it up. Natures Miracle is great. I would definitely recommend it. You just have to catch it quick. I hope the neutering is enough to stop Cole. Only about 5% continue to spray after neutering. We were the lucky ones of course. We tried everything: feliway, Valium, etc. he hasn't done it in a couple years.

Poor little guy probably doesn't know what hit him!

I'm glad to hear Simon ate near Cole and is investigating. I think it's a good sign, too!

Wow, what a day for you, Georgia! I hope that everything will be good from here on. Cole was probably frightened and nervous. It's great that he is healthy and I'm sure that there is a furever home waiting for him. Sounds like Simom is taking all the excitement in stride. I have heard great things about Nature's Miracle, but have never had to use it myself.

Thinking of you on Cleo's 1-month anniversary. I know how difficult these anniversaries are and I know that she is keeping watch over you from the Bridge. Her stone will look beautiful in your garden.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty
