We decided to do the increase back to .75u. I think with his appetite back in full force, it is the best option.

He got his shot late today because hubby was in a meeting that ran long. :-( Now his company is asking him to come in on Friday the 24th (he works from home). I am out of sick days, so I can't stay home to give Indy his insulin that day....no idea what we are going to do for that. Maybe see if our roommate is willing to give him his shot?

Just want things to stay smooth....we are both really stressed out with life etc.

Tonight Buster is trending low even though nothing about this cycle suggested that he should be headed low, dangit. I need to sleep tonight, glucose gods—please don’t do this to me again.

But I just carried some food into his lair and he ate it without a complaint. If you’re going to have a diabetic cat, I hope you have an amazing cat like Buster.

I am truly lucky with how wonderful Indy is. Just sucks that he also has IBD which means we can't feed him any high carb food or it gives him a flare-up. But he doesn't care about the injections, eats his food, takes his other meds and his supplements. Pretty stoic old man cat.

I love that you call it his lair....lol.

Well, Indy went up last night. So don't know if it is NDW or because he got his shot late yesterday morning. Who knows. Holding at .75u though. We will see what his number is at AMPS. I'm a little worried.

I think taking him up to .75 was a good plan--it will be nice if he can see some greenies again soon. Jessica, remind me: is the Chlorambucil something he takes daily? What was/is that for? IBD?

He gets .75mL on Sunday for IBD. It is compounded into a liquid at the dose of 1mg/1mL. He has been on it since he was taken off Pred in 2024. I have been trying to notate on the spreadsheet when he gets his meds.

I was just wondering if it was, in any way, boosting his bg. I read that it's not a steroid; is it a liquid? Pill? I ask because I've found that some liquids that I've given Jude have sugar in them, and they've boosted his bg, so now we have to be very careful to have them compounded without sugar. Also, I've read here that some pills can have a sugary coating. It's just a thought.

I'm also in a bit of a quandary to find someone to test and give Jude his shot while I'm gone for an upcoming 24-hour period. I'm in an area where there just aren't a lot of caregiving resources. And to make matters worse for us, Jude is super shy with new people, so even having someone come in to test/shoot would be difficult. I hope we're both able to figure out a solution!

It is a liquid. We looked at the ingredients and didn't see any sugar. We were wondering the same thing and didn't notice any significant increases on the day of or day after. So, I'm thinking this increase is because we did 2 reductions back to back pretty quickly. His appetite wasn't the greatest at that time and now it is back in full force. He is eating all of his food and begging for more!

Could you have a vet tech from the vet come by and see him while you are gone? I know one of the vet techs at our vet volunteered if we ever needed it.
