I have been incredibly ill and sleeping through shot time. I was finally awake and well to give his shot this afternoon and he was only at 6. I've shot that low before as he normally goes up after dinner, and I know if I miss more then a few shots he will start go up.
Well now he has dropped to 4.9 already... this is only his second dose on Basaglar ever as we were previously using Prozinc.. does it normally kick in this fast?
Will keep testing every 30min or hour till he stops going down..

Stayed at 4.9 for +2
Oddly low for the beginning of the cycle but am happy it hasn't gone down more.
I’m sorry you have been so ill.

Are you able to monitor OK. If you find you can’t, you may need to reduce the dose to 0.25 units.
Hes responded well to the Lantus.
When you feel better can you put a line in between the Prozinc and the Lantus doses please so we can see where the change took please, thanks

I'm not sure how to insert a line on the spreadsheet
I think I'll be fine monitoring at these levels for now
I'm really concerned about doing smaller doses using these needles. I can barely see the .5 line nevermind attempt anything smaller then that.
Is there smaller needles for this? My needles for Prozinc only went up to 12 units so the half unit markings are actually usable.

You are using U-100 syringes with half unit markings correct?
If you ever need to shoot 0.25 units in the future

Yea I have the U-100 3/10 mL syringes with 1/2 unit markings. I understand logistically how to do it, I have given it many times using Prozinc. These needles however hold more insulin, so the space between 0.5 and nothing is so small and hard to see, I do not know how I would be able to go in-between. Atleast not till I get glasses.

Here are the two different needles so you understand what I mean..

Yes I know when and if you ever have to give 0.25 units just try an eye ball it the best you can also I'm sure when Bhooma sees the tag she will make a line on your spreadsheet to show when you switched to Basaglar , are you going to follow TR ?
I hope you're feeling better :cat:
