Green AMPS!!!! barely.. but still counts! Two green AMPS days in a row.. I cried.. by my guess we had 30 hours of green in a row.. with a lil blip of blue last night.. and now 2 AMPS in a row.. she's getting my hopes up :).

She's same ol same ol... she was a blazing bundle of joy this morning.. just kidding... she's so not a morning kitty.. but we did have an eventful morning though.. I managed to test without having to use the straw scoops I make to limit the time I touch her ear.. she let me hold her ear for a full 5 seconds I think!! Excited about that.. I may not have to spend an hour every week sitting on the couch cutting straws into itty bitty spoons ;).

My husband comes home for the weekend tonight.. haven't seen him in a month.. miss him a lot :(.. found out he got a bird feeder for Nova too :).. he's also bringing some freeze dried treats I can't get in Canada.. and some test strips.. not sure if the US and Canadian aviva strips are the same.. but we're going to give it a shot since they are 1/2 the cost down there..

Called the vet to have them put in an order for Jerry's heart medication.. the tech said that Nova's doctor has been calling around to various labs to find a place to do a c-peptide test on her (I emailed her about it earlier this week).. and researching what it might tell us.. don't know about the results of their research yet.. should hear about that soon though..

Re: 4/8 - Nova - AMPS=97

Great report Dawn.
Love those green PS numbers. They are almost heart stopping aren't they?
Hey, interesting about those ears.
Maybe soon you will be able to kiss her. :-D

Happy to hear DH is coming home. Same with Marvie, What a weekend.
Kitties and hubbies = lots of parties.

Re: 4/8 - Nova - AMPS=97

Sounds like you're going to have a big weekend. Please remember to test and shoot Nova no matter how glad you are to see your husband!

Re: 4/8 - Nova - AMPS=97, +2=70, +3=58

I'll have lots of time to test and shoot Nova.. my husband will be pretty busy working on the "honey-do list" for most of the weekend haha.

I fed Nova at around +2.25.. try to get some surfing going on.. guess she feels like being in the 50s.. the lack of food spikes the last couple days (except PMPS+2 last night) has me pretty happy.. she's feeling good.. and she deserves it.

Wow! Nova is doing really, really well. I'm very happy for you guys.

Is your husband in the military or does he just have the type of job that he travels a lot? (or was he in the slammer???  )

Re: 4/8 - Nova - AMPS=97, +2=70, +3=58, +5=54

My husband is an American and I'm a Canadian.. we got married 6 months ago with the intention of him moving here.. but for financial reasons it hasn't been as straight forward as we originally hoped.. we both make good money, but we can't afford to pay all the immigration garbage, take care of the cats medical needs and have one of us be out of work for very long.. we're both in IT.. he's pretty new in the field and it's harder for him to find a good paying job here.. I have a lot of experience in the field and can find work there quite easily or work remotely in my current job, but one of my cats probably wouldn't survive the trip to move there and we're not willing to risk it.

So we're stuck and it's stupid.

Green PS!!!!!

Only ever had two green PSs in a row before the last couple days..and now 4 greenies in 5 cycles!!! I wanted this so bad for her.. she's so happy.. at PMPS I went upstairs to the shooting place.. she came running by meowing and we played a little game of chase before her test/shot.. she feels so good. I'm sooo happy for her!

On a sucky note.. it's snowing and icy here (yeah it's funny reading about all you sweltering people when I live so far up north ;) ).. so they aren't sure if my husbands connecting flight that he's about to board will be able to land..so they're going to fly here.. try to land..and if they can't.. turn around and fly back to Seattle.. blarg.

Re: 4/8 - Nova - AMPS=97, +2=70, +3=58, +5=54, PMPS=88

Yeah my DH is simply awesome.. I knew he was "the one" about 2 years ago.. my terminally ill kitty (HCM) had to have surgery for one of his other (long list) of medical issues that was effecting his quality of life.. My now husband was with me at the vet hospital for the surgery..and they brought Jerry to me straight from the operating table (his chances of surviving surgery aren't the most dreamy).. so I was holding Jerry.. and Jerry was so terrified and confused, stitches everywhere.. blood.. my husband (a big guy, over 6 feet tall.. tough..blah blah).. started crying and almost collapsed.. so funny that in all that worry and terror I had.. I thought to myself "I'm going to marry that man."

He was never even a cat guy before he met me.. he says that seeing cats through my eyes opened him up to a whole new world. Another successfully converted to team "total sucker for cats" hehehe.
