Would someone please look at my SS and offer advice?

I started a new vial of lev on morning of 4/3 . It had bubbles in it, but I thought it was just from being handled, from the pharmacy to home. The bubbles never went away. I have no idea if that is a problem :?:
He's had green days on that insulin, so don't think it's the problem.

I fattened his dose 9 cycles ago, and thought he was doing better on the extra drop, but mostly he stays yellow or pink.
He gets lc snacks after testing, but not enough food to keep his numbers high all day.

He feels good...he was so goofy playful today, grabbing my ankles, I tested to see if he was trying to tell me he was low.
That was the +6/311. He's been playing with toys he never touches.
He seems unusually hungry today, so I feed when he asks.

Is it time to raise to .75?....sheesh, that's almost the same as fat.5.

We're no better off on Lev, than Lantus. I thought he'd have flatter 'curves'.

Oh...(((Barb!!!)))) I can feel your anxiety!

It looks to me like he's still bouncing from his greens. Tomorrow will be the sixth cycle and if he doesn't come down in the a.m. cycle, I'd increase tomorrow night...or if you are more comfortable doing increases
during the day in case he comes down, you can increase Tues morning. I'd take him up a full .25u.

Jill told me, when we switched Gracie to lev, that it often takes weeks and sometimes months to even get the kitty where they were when you switched them. It took Gracie three months before she really started doing
better and longer (almost 5 months) before she really started having the kinds of cycles she is now. You've been at this on lev a little more than a month. I do think Checkers is not diving nearly as much. Yes, he's still
bouncing but I think the thing about lev is helps to flatten out the dives. You know Gracie still bounces, too....mostly in blue...sometimes still in yellow.

Sending you big hugs and wishing you HAPPY EASTER! Hope you get to spend it with your family.

Thank you, Marje. I am very anxious, I didn't realize I was sending out vibes.

We started out well on lev on March 4. I don't know what changed.
Yes, he had a dental and AB's recently, and he has sporadic back pain. He seems to be feeling well though.
He had greens just 2 days ago, but not low enough to bounce, I thought.
I counted 9 cycles on fat 5.
Sounds like I should give this dose another day, then increase on Tuesday morning.

Sounds like you got great advice from Marje. Good luck with the increase.

Just what we needed....a possible fur shot tonight. He pulled away, before I could press plunger, so I reinserted, and think it was okay.

Is it tomorrow yet? :YMSIGH:

Thank you , Tena

Re: 4/8 Checkers pmps 323

Almost tomorrow....it's tomorrow somewhere :-D

Unfortunately, kitties can bounce off numbers other than green! There have been times when Gracie bounced off a lower blue number :o I see many cycles where Chex has bounced off blue (a.m. cycle 3/26 and a.m. cycle 4/1 just to show you two). I know he's been on nine cycles of this dose but he's not been in a bounce that long yet. He sometimes clears his bounces quickly...other times not.

He was on a much higher dose, too, when you first switched him. If you look at Gracie's SS, you'll see I've had to take her up and down between f1u and f1.25u several times. Because there are two of us here and we can take turns at night (which is a real benefit), then we can be more aggressive with her dosing. But if I was doing it alone all the time, there would be NO WAY.

It's possible he might need a little more insulin but he is getting into green on this dose....just not enough. But the more he is in green, the more you have to test and you do a GREAT job of doing that.

hugs hugs hugs hugs. even gracie sends hugs.

Re: 4/8 Checkers pmps 323

Hi Barb,
Just saw your post in Rusty's condo about the bobcat. OMG! I've never seen one, although people say that they are here in the Adirondacks. No wonder your kitties were silent!!

Just read Marje's comments about Checkers and I'm sure she is right and that he will settle down on Lev. after a while. I had no idea it would be such a long process (Rusty had been switched from Lantus to Lev. about 9 months before we adopted him; and of course I don't know if he was a bouncer like Checkers and Gracie).

So get out your patience pants and keep on truckin'!

Did you have a Happy Easter? We usually color eggs, but we didn't get to that this year. Maybe we'll do a few next week, just to keep up the tradition.

Have a good evening. Off to see "Masterpiece Theatre" now.

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 4/8 Checkers pmps 323

don't feel bad, Rupert decided to come and hang out with Checkers this evening! WHAT are we going to do with these bouncy boys????

hang in there. They'll get themselves sorted out soon I"m sure!.

Re: 4/8 Checkers pmps 323

Barb--I understand your frustration--Moonie although she has low dose & pretty regulated numbers,
Bounces for 2 days or so from green numbers and has been doing so for a long long time.
You can see that green numbers (look in my 2012 SS) put her into a bounce the next day lately--I have since added another drop to her dose, which has helped somewhat, but not really good enough..
But I will wait & see if this dose works better or not--
Hope Checks' bounce passes quickly!! Hugs & Lubs from us!! Happy Holiday!

Re: 4/8 Checkers pmps 323

Hi barb - hang in there. I can't really help with the Lev - no clue on it. But I do think that it has stopped the diving, which I think is a good thing for Checkers. I do know that sometimes it does take along time for them to adjust to changes, including insulin types. And yes too on the bounces from blues... Mannie will do that too..

Ok checks - think blue, OK? Your bean worries about you.

I hope your day has been a good one!
