Yay, another day, another chance to keep those numbers down :-D
Checkers isn't into eating today. "Open another can, and maybe I might try it, Mom" grr_red

He's not sick, just not hungry. Ate a bit of FF Beef, decorated with fortiflora, and a few cheese tidbits.
Active this morning, and got his sink, tub drinks.

I don't think I've ever mentioned that he has cataracts. Susan asked me recently, if he can see. It's that obvious.
Lately, he's been staring at the barely running water at the sink, then getting down, and going into the tub.

Again, he sits and stares at the trickling water. The other day, I thought it was because he was in too much pain to bend forward to drink it. I mentioned that in his condo.

This morning, he decided to drink the water collecting on the drain...with water running lightly......on his head!
He paid no attention, as he got soaked. :lol:
I feel so bad for him, that he apparently can't see the stream of water.
He will be 17 in July

Hi guys .. numbers are looking really good this morning! You need to eat up your fuddies checkers .. it makes you big and strong! I'm sorry to hear that his vision is not all that well anymore .. I could be wrong, but it seem's like Hillary's maui might have gone blind recently .. Kitties can still get around without the best vision .. it is probably harder on us to watch .. Good Morning, Barb & Checks,

Sorry to hear that Checkers may be having problems seeing. But at least he knows where everything is in your house and can get around. I guess your job is to make sure that you don't change the location of things.
Anyway, very nice numbers today, Checkers. Now, eat your fuds!

Barb, i'm sorry about Checks having cadillacs. Maybe you could try focusing more light on his stream of water? Before mom had her cadillacs fixed, she had lamps and flashlights on everything. She said it helped. I don't know if it would be the same for a cat, but might be worth a shot. we've gotten some small, bendable ones at harbor freight and ace hardware that are bright and can be focused anywhere.

It is nice to see these Numbers - sure beats last night. it is a bummer on the eating. That is Mannie this morning too - not into it. Eat your fuds Checkers!

Mannie has cataracts too. I have noticed with him that he cannot see things up close, anything right in front of his face. He navigates just fine though, and it really doesn't seem to bother him much. He knows where things are. It's tough when our kitties start to age.

I hope your day will be a good one.

Morning Barb, wow on Checkers numbers today. Checks, you did good today. So sorry to hear about the water running and Checkers's cataracts. Some good feedback there from Mary and ollie. Maybe he just needed his head washed. :-D My GA kitty used to let water drops on his face. Hope Checkers has a nice surf.

ok, maybe this??? ollie used to love to drink from the faucet. when the 2 civies came, i could never get to the kitchen sink because he taught them all to want to drink from the faucet. ohmygod_smile Now, i have a couple PetMaster fountains. It makes the water move and they all use them...leaving the kitchen sink for me and dirty dishes. I suppose it'd be a learning experience with his eyesight, but i bet you could start by putting it next to his sink and we'll all send fountain vines.

Fats, skinny and inbetweens... Sienne suggested it to me awhile ago. Ollie seems to do much better with them than .25 reductions. I'm not exact, unfortunately.. i use 2 pairs of glasses and say a small prayer to the dosing angels. works pretty well.

Uh oh, I should have tested at 6.5, before we went outside. Oops!
He loved getting out, (on harness) but it used lots of energy.
 
What a lovely day for Checkers! So much better than what he showed yesterday.

Loved the pics of Checks and his water fountains. :lol: Growing up we had a cat with one eye missing (removed due to infection) and the other with very limited vision. He did fine around the house, except if we moved the furniture. Still got up on the sofa and wanted out to sniff. Cats are amazingly adaptable. 17 isn't old, just a bit creaky. :lol:
 
Love the water pics of Checkers! Two of my civvies will really only drink out of the kitchen faucet, even though we have a fountain and regular water bowls. My favorite is Noah, though, because he purposely sticks his head under the faucet until it is soaking wet, then he runs to his food dish and lets the water run off his head over his kibbles. He takes a few bites, then repeats the process. Of course, if I put water in the food, he'll have nothing to do with it :roll: :lol: !

Nice numbers for Checks today...I hope he keeps things down this evening, too!
