So… late last night… in the wee-est of hours… Jack finally came down. Eventual lowest point was round about 130. (I am so tired, having woken up every hour to check him. And now I gotta go to work… :coffee::coffee::blackeye:)

However, it took five days to get there since the last night of blues. I don’t know why he bounced so high for so long - because it was high, and long. His nadir last night was in the stay-same-dose range under SLGS. However, I wonder if he might actually still need to increase, to try to bring the bounce down. Or would an increase even affect the bounce?

He’s bouncing fast this morning, too.

I don’t want to drive him too low, yet the last few days have been terribly high, peaking in reds. Thoughts/advice, anyone?
 
With SLGS Jackson's nadirs are in the hold the dose range between 90 and 149. I hope Jackson doesn't bounce too high. I hope you can get some sleep tonight.
 
So……. Jack decided to totally flummox me and his recent spate of highs by going even lower today than he did last night. Now, it’s not that I’m not happy about it - wary that it won’t last, but glad that it happened - it’s just that I’m not sure what to do with his dose tonight. He’s above 90, so he’s technically in the safe zone. And at the moment he’s stable; he’s been in the mid-90s for over two hours now. But this close, is it safe to give his full shot? I know I’ve heard that when kitty is in range, a full shot just keeps them flatter… I just still do fear him diving down much more. But I also know that lessening his shot will probably send him rocketing up again - he hasn’t actually earned a reduction. Is this my chance to break the bouncing cycle? Or will I crash him?

Advice….? One hour till PM shot time.

Honey, and some medium carb. I might not need it though; he’s still climbing (though not rocketship fast which I’m glad for.) We’ll see I guess how his sugars come up and whether he starts back down when the insulin kicks in.

I was more afraid of how he might do if he stayed flat near 90 - which he did for several hours! (Wow.)
 
Well he’s gone up a little… from 120 to 136, now 130 again (I’m using the Libre again at the moment, now he’s back in numbers it runs fairly close at, that’s why so many readings). But I guess that is fairly flat. I just got the 136 and then expected to see him keep rising… but I guess he’s not, just up and down very slightly. Is that good? More likely to stay flatter, or might he dive later?

As for food bumps, he doesn’t get them much after his meals, because the wet food he actually likes is super low carb. And he nibbles on the YA off and on all day rather than snarfing much at once - like just a few pieces at a time typically. I really only see sugar boosts after I feed him high-LC and MC foods… the latter when I want a rise. Most of his sugar rises appear to be liver bounces. I have a feeling if we can make the liver stop panicking, he’d stay relatively flat.
 
What a lovely day! I'm so glad to see him in those numbers. :cool:

If you haven't heard it yet, the threat of an increase often works miracles. :p
