I hope too that his appy improves. Interesting thought on the bupe affecting appy. I dunno, something to watch. Maybe someone will know yes or no...

I'm sure ECID but I have never noticed the bupe affecting Gus's appetite....he's a bottomless pit :-D

Cats are selfish people! Himself woke me from a nice afternoon siesta, to ......feed him!! HMPH!

I gotta admit, it was nice to have him asking for food today. Whew!

Once again, I told myself, he eats Beef Fancy Feast, with no problem; it must be my imagination that hamb meat raises his bg.
He was begging, when I was making chili, so i gave him 'some' cooked gr beef.
How in the name of Heaven, can plain beef, possibly raise glucose? It was rinsed even, to get the fat off.

Well, I learned my lesson, at his expense. He ate nothing else today, to account for this.
And there's nothing he could be bouncing from. He hasn't seen green, for 3 days.

Ella.....I KNOW you don't think I gave him chili....right? :lol: Just the meat, as I was cooking it.

I did not retest this time, because I double tested every hour, the other day when he was black all day, and all I did was waste strips. :roll:

Amy I just read in Trixie's condo, that Wellness spikes her. I didn't suspect Wellness recently when Checks was high all day.

Thank you Rhiannon.....doesn't that stuff look good? I can almost smell it. Checks loves chicken, so I may splurge on some of that stuff.
If he doesn't like it.....I bet it makes good chicken soup :lol:

Wow, that place has loads of cat foods I never see in stores.

Cowboy Cookout has all those veggies in it. How can it be low carb? It's on the list and I've seen people on here using it.

It's on Dr. Lisa's list and both low in carbs and phosphorus, as we both have renal kitties, Mags more advanced than Trixie, The Weruva is difficult to find in the chain pet stores. I just looked on http://www.wag.com, and it's available there for $30.00/case in the 3 oz cans. The trouble is you have to buy a case. There's also a website I noticed on the can http://www.weruva.com

If you want to try a few cans first to see if Checkers likes it, I can send you some in the mail. Just pm me your address. It's no trouble. Both Trixie and Mags love it, and Mags is pretty picky lately."

ETA Ooh ;;;I just looked at the website Rhiannon sent, and you can buy it by the can instead of a whole case as in wag.com! :-D Barb, I can still send you some to try out first. It looks just as in the pic.

Yep, for some reason, Wellness sends Trix's BGs all over the map. I found that out during her first year as a diabetic. Every time I tried Wellness, her numbers went bonkers; if I remove it, she settled back down to flatter cycles.

Of course I'm kind of back to that place right now, what with trying to figure out a new diet that she likes that works for both her FD and her very early renal issues...

In Texas all they put into chili is the meat and a few spices.

He'll come back down, just keep him away from the meat locker.

Hahahaha John, I wondered if Ella thought I meant I gave Checks beans. I didn't know it was ever made without!

Ann and Amy, thank you both for offer to send cans. I think I may send for one of each of several kinds.
Even so......it's expensive.
I'm so annoyed with Checks right now. He is refusing the FF once again. Clancy ate it, and I refuse to open another. Checkers is in here, with his nose to the floor, hoping to find a kibble. grr_red
