She's feeling better this morning. I could tell she was doing well at shot time, so I fed her as usual. Just had to pull her head out of the food bowl for a moment to get her +2. So it looks as though all last night's drama was nothing more than a hairball...typical that I'd panic over something they all do all the time

And I think we know what caused her vomiting yesterday - all 3 of the 6 who only eat the wet food (one of the others has spent the day outside and the other 2 are in our housemate's room so I haven't checked on them yet) have had diarrhea today. So I think we must have got a dodgy can of food - there haven't been any new flavors introduced and it's all well within the use by date, but something's set them all off and there's nothing else that it could realistically be.

Great news to hear she is eating better today. :) My civie refused to eat this morning when I was in a rush to get out the door. But I agree that one doesn't worry as much about civies as the diabetic ones. Of course he hurled (just missed the carpet) as I was headed out, and was fine later. I dread hairball season. I've heard the odd person with an off cat of food too. :arghh:

Sorry I didn't see the tag yesterday on all meat babyfood. I'm by no means an expert as we can't get all meat babyfood in Canada. I do cross border shopping and pick up some Beechnut Stage 1 which is just mean and water.

She seems just fine today - although just a touch stressed by the kids since they showed up around noon. She's fine when it's just one or two of them, but she finds the noise and constant movement from all 3 a bit much. It didn't help that the youngest of the 3 who's also diabetic showed up with a BG of 394 and having only eaten carbs all morning  so she kept hearing his meter go off as I made him test himself...yeah, I know, wicked step-mother. ;) She and Regan have always gone off their food a little in very hot weather, but not usually around this time of year. For some reason hairballs don't usually put them off their food - they just barf them up and carry on as normal...they really do have some very nasty habits when I actually have to think about them. And Regan's a horror for scarf-n-barf at least once a week - not quite as badly since she's been on wet food, but she was dreadful for doing it with the dry, especially if she thought the bowl was getting a bit low. For some reason then she had to eat everything that was in it instantly...before it 'ran out' maybe. No worries on the baby food - I finished up getting the Beechnut in the end as our local Walmart stocks it - and I still have a few left over just in case we need it again for her in future. I just had no idea what to look for - it's over 20 years since I had to buy baby food for my son (and then it was in the UK so all different brands, none of which were low carb) and I was worried I'd buy something that looked OK and then turned out to have sugar added or something similar.

Most of the meat baby foods in Canada are meat with "gravy" or starch added. Or else a high starch veggie.

About the same as what I remember in the UK then...and actually the same as just about everything we found here except the Beechnut. The Gerbers didn't look too bad, but they were gravy instead of broth so we decided against those in the end - no point pushing her numbers up further than we had to. And of course added sugar and/or corn syrup is in just about everything too - as if babies need any of that :P

And she's obliging me with a number I'm happy to leave her at for an hour or so - Michael took the kids to play lasertag and just asked me if I want to go get dinner with them before he takes the kids home - reckon I can go meet up with them for a bit as she's high enough to be safe :)

How nice of her to let you have a few hours off  Have a great dinner!

Thank you. We had fun - it was only at one of the local Denny's (it gets crazy expensive with all 3 kids along otherwise) but it was nice to be able to just go without having to worry about her for once. :) And now she's decided to go back to one of her favorite numbers (86 shows up on her ss a lot for some reason) by the time I got back! :D

Hmm...where are you going with this tonight Rosa? Looks like I might be up to check on you for a couple more hours at least. That's OK - you let me have a good day so far. :)
