After Racci's wopping pink 344 pmps last night, she's down to 119 this morning. She had several small meals since then and nothing is really different other than a large poop. Could being constipated for one day make that much of a difference? I just don't get it. Anyone have ideas? It's not bouncing because she had a breakfast at +6 during the night and another ant +3. She seems fine. My little mystery cat.

Re: 4/4-Racci-PMPS 119,

Too tired to look at ss, I'm going to fall back on the old favourite - because she's a cat! Hope you have a great night and that you didn't have plans. I think Racci wants to go to the lagoon!

Re: 4/4-Racci-AMPS 119,

Go take a nap while you can then. I have a feeling you're going to need it. I made a mistake and corrected it actually by putting pm in there first. It's actually Am here so I'm in good shape. lol. I hope she does her blue and green routine today and forgets those stupid pinks already. Good luck with Vyktor's race to the OTJ falls!

I guess it's my turn to stay up tonight. I guess I'll find out at about +3-4. I hope I can get another meal in her. She's been eating several very small meals which is good but I'd like her to eat a little more at each meal like she usually does. Otherwise she'll be low all night.

Hi Melanie!

It sure looks to me like Racci bounced p last night and then cleared overnight! I see a pattern in her cycles that she seems to clear overnight.

Enjoy your pj party!!, :-D :-D

I don't know if that's possible since she ate so many times during the night. She ate at +3 and at +6! Do you think that's possible?

I think she's just clearing from being off schedule. She just got back on schedule after something like 5 days catching up. Yesterday was the first day back on time and you can see how each day as her time caught up more her bg got better. She's very sensitive to time changes. Her inner clock doesn't understand why I won't do her meds and food on time when I screw up and she still comes to me exactly on her regular time to the minute practically. I really think that's what it is.

Racci had a straight line practically all night when I tested her last night. She was eating a lot of small meals after finally having her poop so that probably had something to do with it. I didn't get much sleep tho. Every time I was about to take a nap she decided she wanted to eat. grrr  I have to find something she likes that I can leave out for her. She'll only eat her wet food warm.

The changes in shot time could affect it but it still looks like a bounce to me.

On the bounce and feeding....if kitty is going to bounce because the liver is responding to lower numbers, then feeding won't change that. Gracie was quite the bouncer on lantus and I had her on a very definitive feeding schedule....
it didn't influence the bounce if the liver decided to dump hormones and glucagon.

IF a kitty needs it, and not all do, food management of a curve can be used to help minimize bouncing by controlling dives and low numbers using the food. But it still may not stop it until the liver is used to low numbers to the extent that it doesn't react.

What a great day Racci had today!!!Very Nice am cycle, and a little bounce this evening-
Looks to me she is doing great--If you read about Moonie and Maggie, they both free feed, unless they drop & need food to manage the numbers... The evening cycle was very flat blue, but that is good, there will be green to follow!
Moonie self regulates, she knows when she is dropping & she goes & eats, which she has learned, but she still needs me to manage the food when she goes too low.
Seems that Racci may be trying to do the same..You are doing a great job!! Looking Good Racci Girl!

So Marje,

Since I have been giving her food every 3 hours or so, does that mean there's really no way to control it until her body is used to the low numbers? I know the low numbers are back because she went back on schedule, but now she's pushing me to go ahead of schedule. Funny, because when she did, she was in the yellow.

Roni,

She is definitely trying to self-regulate. The problem is her fussiness with food. She still is not real happy with wet food and only will eat it if it's warm and thin and it thickens and cools when left out so that means she has to come and get me each time. I haven't been able to find a high carb that she likes other than the Wellness minced turkey and she leaves over the turkey and only eats the gravy!
