This is my first post in the Lantus group and today is my second time doing a full curve, so my apologies if I'm not doing things quite right.

I'll be raising the the insulin dose by .25 units tomorrow if we don't get numbers below 150 today (which I can't imagine we will, but who knows!).

I really can't wait to see some improvement in Meat, she is such a trooper and has been so tolerant with me.

When posting on the Lantus Board we like to link the previous days post in case members need to go back to it and read something
We like to post everyday on the Lantus Forum so when you post tomorrow you can link this post (4-3) to your new one :cat:
Good luck if you increase tomorrow morning
It would be very helpful to get some tests in at night after the PMPS shots because you are missing half the picture.
Mix up the testing times. She's a beautiful kitty :cat:

@Vasalisa
Thank you so much Diane! I'll make sure to link this post tomorrow!
Pm can be tough for me to get tests in, but I can schedule some. What hours do you think I should aim for at first to get a better picture? Maybe +1 and where I guesstimate the Nadir might be (+6ish?)

Welcome to LLB. Lantus usually kicks in between +2-3. So that’s a good time to get a test at night. If the BG is lower than another test betwern +4-6 or at least a before bed test. If the +2-3 much higher than the preshot you don’t need to stay up. Once you have some data from at night it will be easier to see when to test. Whenever you can grab a second test just vary the time and try different times each night you get a test. The +1 will often be higher due to a food bump but sone of those are helpful to see how food effects the BG.

Thank you!
I will set aside a few specific PM times to test this week and also hopefully get some random spots here and there to get more info about how she is reacting in the PM. It's more of a scheduling issue than a sleep issue unfortunately! Excellent info! I haven't been logging food times since she grazes on ~1.5 cans of the Fancy Feast Classics throughout the day. I guess if I can keep better track of that I would have some more information about specific foods (and food in general) which would indeed be helpful!

I think after this discussion I am going to aim for just continuing the curve into tonight since I'm already off. Thank you so much!
