Yesterday was..... a S L O W slide day in MannieLand. The numbers were ugly, but he spent the day heading down. One can hope it is a new trend, and that maybe we will see more today. Paws crossed! Mobility/muscle strength seemed decent at times, and not so good at other times. Part of me is looking forward to Monday's vetty appt to recheck levels to see if the meds for the anemia are helping or not. I'm just not sure.... I hope for a good day today, blues would be so cool! All is well in MannieLand. Mannie said so! I took him outside after dinner yesterday, as the weather was decent, and kinda warm at 60. He walked the perimeter though it really took him a while to do it. Another brief bath was had on the grass, after which he went and laid in the flower beds, where he promptly picked up all sorts of things in his belly fur. He was not happy with me when I cleaned him up and then told him he needed to come inside. Poor kitty! If he had his way he'd stay out there til the sun set.... It was a good time for him. Yesterday was an OK day overall. Appy wasn't too bad, he really seems to like the RC renal fuds. I so hope that continues, even if it is a bit on the high carb side. At least he eats. DGS and Mannie did say hello yesterday, and Nicholas helped me with one of Mannie's breffis's . His comment: "Man-NIE sick, Nicky help feed. Man-NIE! Make food all gone" and he did. Awesome, and it really was cute. LB is normal, Ketones tests have been negative. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. Normalcy in MannieLand. yes, it is normal. Mannie said so.

Have a great day everyone! I am back on DGS duty for the rest of the week. Today will be an outdoor day for Nicholas, hopefully a river,a s he does love them so. I hope to visit condos when time permits, it is so tough to do while he is here. I will miss you guys! Think blue, think green kitties!

I thinks we needs a beach day, just to chillax after yesterday. maybe at Maggie's and we can walk the boardwalk, practice strutting our stuff some more, and maybe eat at the shops. Morning Melissa THX, I hope he does too: down Mannie! I was glad to see he would eat the renal fuds. This morning was a bit trying, but the AM feed is always the most difficult one,. AT least he ate, +1 went well - all renal food. Yea on Nicholas: it was nice to see: "Nicky help!". that he did.

Hi Michelle, I think about you guys a lot and wanted you to know how hard I'm pulling for Mannie. It must have been so hard to hear those discouraging words from your vet, but at least Mannie doesn't know so much about it. And he loves his Nicky and ate a good meal for him. That is so incredibly sweet.

I'm glad you and Mannie are enjoying this time together and he loves his outside time in the grass. I always loved the photos of him surrounded by the green grass.


If I may make a suggestion, if you haven't already done this, try to get a video or sound recording of his purr. I did that last year before I lost BigMac and it was so comforting for me when nothing else seemed to help. I recorded a scant 15 seconds a few weeks before he went to the hospital for his surgery. I thought I'd have more time later to get a better sampling. Sadly we did not have any more time. But those few seconds were priceless. ♡♡♡ Sorry to be a downer, I wish I could hug you for real. Hi Michelle, I'm glad that the renal food is one that Mannie likes and hope that it will help him. It is so great that he can get outside to visit his favorite spots in the garden. Especially the ice cream and bacon! And if you share your nanner pile, I won't tell your mommy bean that you ran up on stage and pretended you were Barry Manilow right in front of him! and how you swayed your hips and danced around the stage and how you caterwauled Copa Cabana and changed the words to Mannie Cabana the hottest kitteh North of Havana.

Thank you so much for today's delivery. I do have to ask, why are there pretty feathers in my delivery? They are long, plumes of pink and purple feathers that look like they came from the Vegas strip. Is there something I need to know about yesterday? Thank goodness the feathers were wrapped around my tea and not in it!

Hi Michelle, getting to Mannie's condo a bit late for me. Mannie, thanks so much for the triple Breves and 10 Hour Energy Coffees. it hit the spot. So glad Mannie got out for some yard time and too funny bringing half the yard back with him. I hope the meds for the anemia will help the mobility and overall make him feel better. Mags used to like the RC Renal LP, but then when she had the UTI, I dunno, her taste buds changed. Now she eating a little K/D, but very high in carbs. I hope you and DGS are at a rive adventure by now and having some fun.

Hi Michelle......I'm so glad that Mannie is eating the renal foods. My gosh, it's so hard on the heart when the little bugger won't eat. I'm also glad that he gets to go outside to soak up the sun or clouds, whichever is out there. :roll:

Nicholas and I ended up at the Aquarium today - weather here is non-stop rains.... so indoors it was. He really does evolve this place - non-stop go go go go from the minute we walked in the front floors... :lol: I will post the Picassa photo link in Mannie's condo tomorrow.

Hi CD - one of my fav pics of Mannie - that is so him! I remember the day that photo as taken. Good times. I like you suggestion - what a cool idea. I have a few cherished videos, and that would be a nice addition. and you are not a downer, not at all. The reality is: he's not well, and as much as I want to make it all go away I can't. We enjoy the time we have, and hope that the new meds regimen will g help him, that maybe he will be around longer that they expect. I hope that is the case. Thanks so much for the idea.

Hi Josie - It was so cute: he did listen to DGS - well so it seemed. I couldn't get him to eat, Nicholas did. It will probably be sniffing weather today - very rainy and wet, but there is sheltered spot on the deck where he can sit and sniff sniff sniff... COOL!

Hi Ella - Me too on the renal fuds - it's a bit high in carbs, but if it helps, I'm all for it. SO agreed too on the outdoors. It's raining today, but at least he can still get out on the deck. Sure do hope the sun reappears. I had so hoped on a river, but it is just too wet... bummer!

Hi Mary - He seems to do OK with the fuds, most of the time he will eat them. I tried them just for "to see" a week or so ago and he really ate well, so figured why not. liked CD's idea of getting recordings... have thought of that myself and not done it so I'm going to do it also...
One of the things I get from Shadow is a purr/fweee sound every time I touch her... or when I walk in the room....
like ...... huh? mama?

Those sounds they make are really hard to lose and to have a few recordings sounds wonderful.

Hi Michelle - sorry to be getting around so late today. Work work work! I love the DGS stories with Mannie - brings a smile to my face! I agree with CD and glad the suggestion was put out there ... I tried to record Josie's purr when she was in the hospital but just got static. I really really wish I'd gotten purrs because they were so special to me. I also got her paw prints in ink and they look just like her little paws when she was sunning herself in the warm sun. Little special things. I'm happy to hear that you're spending each new day with Mannie and reporting that Mannie says it is so. Bless the furry guy, no matter how many flowers and grass he drags in on his furry belly. "-)

Hi @ PMPS. Sheshhhhh.... and here we are again. ALl this talk on how well he likes the RC - so we dish that up for pmps, wouldn't touch it. you gotta love it. so.... I fed him Cowboy Cookout, an old favorite, @ pmps, which he are really well. Of course 1 hour later , for a small mini meal I always give him, he wouldn't touch it. AIyyeee! No wonder I have so many gray hairs.... :shock: :lol: He seems to have had an OK day today. No outsides though as it is raining really hard, and he's preferred to sleep in his bed. Took one look at all that wet and gave it his backside. :lol:

Hi Lisa - no problem on the time of visits - I struggle everyday to find time to visit folks. I feel bad I can't always return all the visits Mannie gets... Know how it is to be busy, so Understand that one for sure. THX: me too on the Mannie and DGS stuff - they are great to tell, makes me smile to write them down. I so agree on the recordings - I am going to make an effort for sure to get Mannie's. Ya know - I so garee with this: " Bless the furry guy, no matter how many flowers and grass he drags in on his furry belly. "-) I wuill miss that: having to clean his belly after every venture outdoors. ;-)
