Today is Boo's seventh day on the Lantus, so we decided to do a proper 'curve' for the first time, testing every 2 hours during the daytime cycle. His overall BG values have gently trended downwards from the previous couple of days. His nadirs appear to still be high enough that we'll continue to watch and wait. Boo's dad, TheNewTeddy, put the info into this lovely graph form, so I thought I'd share.

I've been concerned about why +4 and PMPS are not matching, ups and downs etc. Seems to be a bit erratic and if we'd not done a full curve we would not even be able to see it.

Well done and very nice, those are some lovely numbers. They're all within the normal cat range and where the pancreas heals

Boo deserves a green smilie icon for those - you can edit your original post to add it if you like, then everyone can see what a good boy he is

It would still be much more helpful to see the numbers in a spreadsheet and in the US format that we all use. Most of us do not go to the trouble of graphing the numbers since we're much more used to working with spreadsheets and we can see a great deal more numbers and look at trends.

The US numbers are on the graph as well. We've been trying to translate into 'American' where possible for the US folks on the Board, even though our glucometer and vet's info all follow the international standard.

That is a really nice curve...all normal numbers, nice and flat - definitely not erratic at all! You're definitely going to see fluctuations throughout the day, no matter what, and Boo's "fluctuations" are lovely. If you have a chance, check out what some of the other kitties here are up to, and you'll see how nice things are going for Boo. Good job with the testing!

Thanks for getting the SS set up. You need to set the permissions so anyone with the link can open the SS. Right now, it can't be opened.

Hi,

You need to grant access permission for the spreadsheet so lurkers *cough* can see what you're up to. Not me, just other lurk....errr.... people.

It is a very pretty curve. Can you get at least one test every evening during the PM cycle? A before bed test would be ideal. Many cats experience lower numbers at night. With where Boo's numbers are, it's important that you know where the numbers are so you can keep your cat safe. In addition, if you don't test a night, you're missing half of your data.

We've done occasional nighttime tests. Boo is more of a nighttime eater, so we feel pretty confident he's keeping himself safe (i.e., out of hypoglycemia range) at night, but we do check from time to time.
