Trix is probably just about the same as yesterday, maybe a little better. Overall she is better by far, but also not 100%. She is eating OK, but definitely eats much better if I hold the plate for her and "remind" her to eat. I would love to see her take more initiative with eating, but at least she is eating and OK amount.

I'm still able to get her BP meds into her, thank goodness. I also switched her from liquid famotadine (which she was starting to get REALLY unhappy about) to tablets. We gave her 1ml/2mg ondansetron this morning, but I'm debating discontinuing that tomorrow to see how she does. That makes me nervous, but at some point we have to see if she's feeling OK without meds. She hasn't had bupe since Monday.

She does look SO much more comfortable overall, especially when she is sleeping. Even just a few days ago, it seemed like she was struggling to sleep comfortably.

I just want her to be ALL better NOW.

Her BGs are still surprising me...and I am still thankful I don't have to worry about the diabetic component right now. Her last shot was a BCS the morning of 4/22.

The weather here is nasty today...we're expecting 2"-4" if rain. I'd rather stay home and snooze with kitties, but I have to work. I should be able to come home midday to check on her.

Have a great day, LL!

Amy

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

Go Trixie! Things seem to be progressing nicely. Mannie took a while to fully recover from his p'titis too. I am still amazed that there has been no insulin since 4/22. Awesome! Worth a try I think to see if she still needs the ondansetron or not. I would think you'll know soon enough.

Have a great day today, I hope all goes well. Bummer on all that rain....

Dear Amy
I know how anxious you are to have sweet Trixie all better now......but to an outsider, her progresion looks soooo good.
I can't tell you how happy I am, that she is getting better, and with no insulin. Oh happy happy day! :-D

Re: 4/30 Trixie AMBG 88

Wow!!! I sure have missed a lot!!! I've been so busy with work and using all my free time to work in the yard that I haven't even come on the board to look around like I normally do. SO glad Trixie is getting better. You sound exactly like me when it comes to worrying....I've always said, if you have something that needs worry about, just let me know and I'll do the worrying for you because I'M SO GOOD AT IT!! Drives me crazy, too. I worry about things before they happen, because they might happen. I worry when things are going well, because WHY are they going so well. I've called Marje a couple times because Champ's numbers were so perfect on such a small amount of insulin that I JUST KNEW something bad had to be on the horizon. Jeez!!! The thing is, when it comes to our diabetic kitties, eating is so important. When they don't eat, or don't eat like we need them to, it's dangerous. Because we here on FDMB are so well informed about FD, we know how dangerous it can be. It's times like these when being well informed can drive us batsh!t crazy!! Champ's need for insulin decreased and his numbers improved SIGNIFICANTLY after his stay at the vet's when he ate the lily plant. I still puzzle over how going through a trauma, whether being sick or being in the vet hospital, can jump start a cat's system and have them start doing so much better. It's happened to Champ, it's happening to Trixie, and I've seen it happen in other cats as well. Just weird. I'm just SO HAPPY to see Trixie is doing better. I'll keep you ALL in my prayers that good things continue and that your weather will, GOD PLEASE, start being nice to you!!

Nice WCR today. So great to hear she is getting better day by day, even if it isn't fast enough for the bean. Sounds like she is much more comfortable and well on her way to 100%. Have a great day Amy!

Hi guys .. these numbers without juice are just amazing! I think we all want miss trixie to feel better and to feel better NOW!! Fingers crossed every day bring major improvement .. have a great day guys!

Re: 4/30 Trixie AMBG 88

Thank you, everyone....your words bring me comfort.

I came home to check on her. She looks comfy and relaxed, and it looks like she did eat some of the fuds I left out. I just gave her a fresh snack; she ate about half of it, and I left the rest for her to hopefully eat later on. She IS pretty happy about eating, but the big difference right now is that I have to hold the plate for her, rather than her eating totally on her own. I think if I left her to her own devices, she wouldn't consume enough calories just yet.

Now I need p-titis patience pants ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ???? Didn't I go through enough FD patience pants over the years  ??

Back to work!

Re: 4/30 Trixie AMBG 88

Looks like things are continuing to progress well with Trixie. I''m glad you stepped back and looked at the big picture a little more. Small improvements each day don't seem like much until you look at a larger chunk of time and realize just how far she's come. Everything with cats is a marathon, not just the FD. Keep hanging in there and you'll soon have your old Trixie all the way back (except maybe without the insulin - anti jinx!). :-D

Trying to NOT be a nervous MamaBean with this PMBG...I'm sketchy about restarting the juice while her appy is a bit wonky. She did kinda go for a little FortiFlora again tonight for the first time since all this started....for a few days there, she would turn away from it. So yes, baby steps are still being taken. But, she still needs so much encouragement to eat, and that is so not Trixie-like....

If/when we have to restart insulin, I plan on restarting from the beginning with 1.00U, and I need to be around for monitoring, so it would be Friday morning at the earliest.....

I'm glad Trixie is feeling better. I hope her appy gets better and she'll eat more on her own soon. Sending prayers for Trixie.

Trixie's numbers are still looking good given no insulin for so long. I'm happy to read there is progress every day, although I can totally relate to wanting her better NOW! Sending along more appy and feel better vines.
