Last night I took a +4 and it was 204 from a PMPS 269.

So he is running a little high, but that isn't unexpected. He is getting a little less insulin and you may still be dealing with an infection.

Were you reassured reading Tanya's website? If you want, you can post on Health and ask about kidney disease. There are lots of people who are dealing with both and will be able to help you. (it will help if you have the values from his test)

Re: 4/30 Merlin AMPS 340

Yes, numbers are running high but actually I am giving him more insulin than I normally would have. According to my sliding scale I would have given .8 instead of the 1U for these numbers. I posted on the health board a question on diet. I need to do some cat food shopping this afternoon so I was hoping to get some ideas. Seems that the needs of the diabetic and CKD cat are quite different. Tanya's website is really good. Learning a lot...!

It's gonna take some getting used to for sure. Just remember how overwhelming diabetes was at first. But now you mastered testing, shooting, and caring for a diabetic. You'll get it!
