I'm sure she got at least a partial fur shot last night, because when I was petting her afterwards I could smell insulin on my hand and her numbers this morning are saying she got short changed on the shot. As well as possibly still bouncing a little off the lows the past couple of days.

But then again it was just last sunday that she started in the pinks and was in the weeds by +9 so today I'm going to be testing her a little more than I would normally when it looks like she is going to be running high, since I don't want her to make that same run for the basement that she did that on Sunday.

I have a feeling today is going to be one of those nice, relaxing sort of days - or maybe I'm just hoping it will be cause I know how much you could use an easy day......either way...I was thinking that cats are pretty smart - and we ought to be able to figure out a way they could test themselves for us....maybe step on a pad and get a treat sort of thing ;)

And she puts on her bikini and is taking a dip in the Blue Lagoon. :-D Thinking I'm pretty safe to go back to peeling off wallpaper today. Oh Joy!

Better you than I.....I learned the hard way and there will never, ever be wallpaper in a house of mine again....

Re: 4/3 Autumn amps-354,+3-373,+6-198

Oh trust me once this is all gone out of this house there will never be another piece of it in my house either, well except for maybe a border up by the ceiling since I have such tall ceilings.

This place use to be a rental and has some rather ummm questionable design choices...lol like someone wall papered the bathroom ceiling and then painted over it, the other day I was taking a bath and half of it fell off....talk about watching cats scattered. The other reason it is all coming down, when it was originally put up, whoever hung it had no clue on wall paper they just slapped it on the wall, then tried to wrapped it around the corners instead of stopping and starting it. And didn't even do a good job at that.

There are some people who should never attempt DIY jobs.

I, too, have lived in places with questionable decorating. :o Actually, have no problem with the white on white in my appt, don't have to work at making others' 'questionable decorating' work for me. And I have wood floors, so no carpets in a strange color to clash with my furniture. It's a blank canvas in here and I have made it mine in the almost 5 yrs I've been here. :-D

Plus, I can change it to suit me by what I put in it. I redecorated my bathroom, as a Christmas present to myself. New towels, rugs, shower curtain, accessories, I love it and it looks so different.

Like I said, it is very neutral, white walls, wood floors, golden oak cabinets and all white fixtures and appliances, so I can add anything and it goes with it. :-D

Granted, if I owned it, I would have more color in paints, etc, but being a rental, I have no problem with the way it's done. We are allowed to paint and do anything we want in our appts, BUT you have to paint it back to white before you leave, so I didn't bother, I add my color with my things instead of paint. Besides, 21 foot ceilings take a lot of paint! I live in a warehouse type apt, in a refurbished 110 y.o. cotton mill. :-D I do so love my apt and have no intention of leaving until I can buy my own place.

Sounds lovely, particularly with the high ceilings. I was lucky enough that this house came painted almost entirely a neutral sort of ivory color with white trim that goes well with the oak floors - so I didn't have to paint any walls. But the kitchen was scary bad from the yellow laminate counters to the white peel ant stick tile.....and the person who thought that tile was a good idea also painted the cabinets a hideous shade of brown while keeping the 1950s brass hardware. Don't let me forget the dark brown wainscoting as well, lol..It was really bad - but since I didn't have the money to gut it all, I painted the cabinets and the cabinets white, changed out the hardware, put down one of those fake wood vinyl strip floors and hired a guy to install a black soapstone look laminate countertop and a new sink. Its not my dream kitchen, but I can live with it happily for a while.

I've done the wallpaper thing but generally only to cover up something bad, lol........and not in this place :).

Sounds like you did great with the kitchen Em. :thumbup

I'm considering buying a cheap house that is falling apart and let my son fix it for me. Since that's what he does, he's a building contractor and he and his best friend are business partners. Houses in poor cosmetic condition are really cheap here. Just gut it and start over. :-D I've looked at a couple between $20-30K but it will be a couple years before I can do anything.

Deb,

We have that house you are talking about except I'm the one that is pretty much gutting it and starting over while try to live in it with 14 cats, a 97lb drooler, and a husband...lol. I have basically 786 sq.ft. 1 bedroom, 1 bath, cosmetically challenge house that was built in 1905, and that is IMHO purchased by Jon's dad because it was too ugly to sell for anything. But Hey, it's ours to do what we want with it, while DFIL has to take care of the really expensive major repairs because he still owns in it and technically our landlord, although we pay no rent on it.

When I started taking out carpets to put in those vinyl simulated wood floor strips I discovered that it has all mahogany hardwood floors! Put someone has painted about half of them, and it also has solid mahogany woodwork again all painted over. <bangs head on keyboard>. When I moved in our bedroom was orange with red woodwork, and I'm talking tangerine orange and fire engine red  The Livingroom was completely floor, ceiling, woodwork, and walls Fire Engine Red. @-)...Right now I have at least the bedroom and livingroom repainted so I could stand to actually be in the rooms, even though they also suffer from someone doing a bad job at hanging wallpaper and then someone else painting over it. But the room I'm working on right now is at least only 5 shades of blue and white...sometimes all 5 shades on the same door. One wall is the wallpaper that I'm stripping off at the moment, and the other 3 are painted over 1970s panelling. When I get it done, it is going to resemble a victorian sitting room/sewing room. Oh yeah it also has a popcorn ceiling, that is the next thing to get scraped off once the wallpaper and the paneling is down.

If I ever get it done its going to be a really cute little 1900s English cottage or at least that is my plan for it.

Looks like you have a good start for the night. Hope all goes well and you sleep. You should be tired after the wallpaper thing. Yuk! I'm sure you'll have it looking just the way you want soon.
Boy, you sure have a gang at home, do you have anywhere to sit? I don't know how you can keep track of all them.

Have a great night!

Good Lord Mel, that sounds like one of the houses I was looking at! It's a 2 bedroom that are bright purple and blood red. The rest is not too bad, but those bedrooms are horrid and the kitchen will have to be completely ripped out, it isn't even remotely usable.

So what's with these crazy numbers from our crazy cats?

lol Well in Autumn's case it is just Autumn being Autumn and spiking on food from dinner since her onset isn't until +5ish. Either that or she figures being a typical male he couldn't find his way to OTJ with a map, but he would follow a cute tail to it... ohmygod_smile  :-D
