Happy with this PMPS, will be getting a +2 soon to see what we are expecting.

I am still fending off allergies, trying not to use benadryl or zyrtec, just herbal and homeopathic stuff. Also keeping a migraine at bay, but I feel it really wanting to come after me. My house is the worst place. It is old, drafty, dusty, and has carpet. I have the worst allergies just trying to sleep here. I cannot wait to move to a better place. Sure hope I can make that a reality soon!

Question: When I get ready to increase and if I am trying to steer more with food, do i wait until I see low numbers, or add some carbs at shot time to be preemptive?[/URL]

I usually think of the term "steering with food" as choosing carb content to feed at the time based on each test result, how big of a drop there is, time till nadir etc.
However, I think if you are going to give more insulin I believe the idea is to increase the carb content at AMPS and PMPS to help keep big BG drops at bay BEFORE they happen. It seems those of us who feed raw and/or very low (3% or so) carb meals at shot time can experience that a lot. I',m sure someone more experienced can explain it better, plus I'm really tired...

+2 = 155
Looks like he might get lower tonight??? I think I'll try to nap and set an alarm. But will leave him a snack out in case I flake! May have to take a migraine pill. I have to work tomorrow and I am really trying to fend off this one.

He's so adorable. I hope you don't get that migraine.

Most people I've seen that feed higher carb food at PS time do so because their cat drops a lot quickly, like by +1 or +2. Usually when you feed the curve, you add higher carb food depending on what numbers you get at each test.

Since he was only up slightly at +2, it could be an active cycle, or not. Typical cat.

I hope Taffy surfs safely so you can sleep. Sending migraine be gone vines.
Slept thru the alarms but woke and got a test at +7.25 = 165, so don't know what he did in between. He had a snack out and did eat it, so he was just fine. I could barely see to poke him, even with my glasses and head lamp on. I must've poked the poor guy 50 times b4 I got blood. (He doesn't feel it, I use the 33 gauge.)

Yes, I am going to have to figure out what works for Taffy and me.
