Good morning,

Yesterday's condo

Yesterday
AMPS=216 (0.75u); +1=239; +2=239; +3=259; +10.5=189
PMPS=211 (0.75u); +2=221; +4.5=232

Today
AMPS=205 (0.75u); +2=241; +8.75=164
PMPS=189 (0.75u); +2=184

I am past upset and frustrated, and what I feel is just disappointment.
Not with Lucy of course, she can do no wrong, but with the situation.
All that hustle and worrying over dental, and she ends up worse than before.

I'd say she's about the same as yesterday.
I didn't give her any meds, because I didn't think any of them helped the day before yesterday.
The fact that cerenia or bupe didn't do much combined with her posture make me think that it's not pancreatitis.
If it's not the irritated throat/nose/stomach lining from the vomit (still?), maybe it's psychological.
Maybe she's traumatized about the experience. Or maybe she doesn't like how her new mouth feels.

At least, both Lucy and I figured out that it's the Wellness Turkey she doesn't want to eat at the moment.
I'm sure that's because that's what she puked.
But this realization is making her accept other flavor more willingly. :smile:
She ate 1st breakfast (Turkey & Salmon) without turning her nose up!
So please don't worry, I'm getting enough food in her. And she didn't have a fever if I did it right yesterday.

Sorry for the depressing condo, but no time to re-do it.
I'm just feeling a bit down this morning, but we'll be fine.

Sending vines to all in need.

Re: 4/29 Lucy AMPS=205

By my calculations, Lucy's temperature last night was 37.9 C * (9/5) + 32 = 100.2 F. That is normal for a cat. YAY! I'm sorry you're a bit down this morning. :sad: It's good news on Lucy today, no temperature, you found a food that she is eating, BGs are ok. :-D Sending you tons of comfort vines, maybe she just needs a little time for her throat to get over the irritation and her mouth to heal a little more. Big hugs!
Liz

Re: 4/29 Lucy AMPS=205

I know we all understand....it can be so depressing when our babies aren't feeling 100% no matter what we do. It may just take longer for Lucy to show signs of improvement from the dental since she does have so many other things going on. At the very least, you can take comfort in know that any pain she may have had as a result of her teeth is now gone, even though evidence of that may not be visible.

I'm glad she approved of this morning's fuds choice. I hope you guys are feeling better by now!

Re: 4/29 Lucy AMPS=205

Sorry to hear Lucy's still not acting like she feels better :sad:

I do understand your disappointment. We read about others here who have dentals and within a short time they're acting so much better and their BG's are improving...and our kitties don't do the same.

I had been so excited that China's numbers would come down after hers too and it just didn't work out that way. We feel like we must be doing something wrong, but of course, we're not. ECID is so very true!

Sending some extra healing vines for Lucy and hope she starts showing you some improvement soon!

Re: 4/29 Lucy AMPS=205

Hi Mariko,
I'm sure that Lucy will be feeling better and better when her throat irritation clears up and she gets used to her "new" mouth. It's good that she is eating the other flavors. Could it be that that batch of Turkey isn't quite up to snuf? Sometimes we get a can that Rusty doesn't approve of and it doesn't have anything to do with his health.
Anyway, sit down, put up your feet, enjoy some relaxing food and beverage, and don't worry about Lucy. She's a cat. She'll do fine and do it her way!! :smile:

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

I'm sorry you're feeling disappointed. It will take a little time for Lucy to get over everything and start feeling better. That's good you found something she will eat. I hope she starts feeling better soon. Sending hugs and prayers. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 4/29 Lucy AMPS=205;+2=241;+8.75=164

Gosh my morning post is depressing!
I almost want to delete it!!!! :oops:
I guess I was in a particularly bad place this morning.
In my head, I have a box with a lot of buttons of them, and each button has different issues Lucy has written on them, FD, CKD, IBD, pancreatits, athma, poor appy, bad teeth, etc. etc.
And if I push one of them all the way down, one of the other buttons pops up.
This is what I often imagine when I'm trying to figure out how I can make Lucy feel better.
And this morning, I was feeling as if everything popped up by pushing down the "bad teeth" button.
But I know that's not true.
I usually have more faith in Lucy's ability to heal and bounce back, as she has always done.
Silly bean!

Thank you for your encouragement and reminding me to look at the bright side.
You are the best. :YMHUG:

Re: 4/29 Lucy AMPS=205;+2=241;+8.75=164

Hi, Mariko, I've been thinking about you and your girl today. :YMHUG:
I hope she's feeling good tonight and feels even BETTER tomorrow. :-D

Re: 4/29 Lucy AMPS=205;+2=241;+8.75=164

Mariko, I hope she feels much better tomorrow. I wouldn't discount the possiblility of a panc attack after such a short time on cerenia. Max needed ondansetron for several days after his last dental. Just my two cents for what it's worth!! :YMHUG:

Oh, Mariko, we all get overwhelmed and feel helpless from time to time. You and Lucy have been through so much lately, it's not surprising that you got depressed. It would be surprising if you didn't! Go ahead and vent here - that's all part of what this board is about.

Take some deep breaths and try to look for some positives. For instance, you said Lucy ate the Turkey & Salmon willingly. That's a good thing! She had no fever - another good thing! Positives are what you need to focus on.

You are doing an awesome job, and Lucy is so lucky to have such a loving, caring bean. A nice, blue surf tonight is very good. I hope you get a good night's sleep and things look better in the morning.

Hugs. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
