4/29 Baby OTJ Trial Day 9 PMBG 97

Good morning, Lantus Land
Tested to a 119, fed & tested in 3 hours 109. Today is Day 9, is it time to abort the trial now? Unfortunately I will not be able to reply to the board today. Yesterday & today have been busy (death in the family & work) I will be back on tonight. I will plan to come home & test her for lunch & PM. I would like to have a plan in place though. If I get another Blue #, should I shoot?

Good morning Nicole. I would say, no don't abort just yet. Spot had some pretty high numbers there and I had that same "should I abort" feeling. It could be a fluke..but look, Baby did come down, so things are still working. It could be that Baby is like Spot...doesn't really get those low greens like the "other" cats ;-) Hang tight and see what happens!

Oh, and HAPPY DAY 9!!!!

I agree with Spot -- no need to abort her countdown -- looks like a normal countdown bobble.

You don't need to abort the trial. It is only one number and Baby has had great numbers.
A lot of cats bobble during trial with higher numbers.

Ummm....
Last time I looked, 120 and below were normal BG levels. Step away from the syringes.

I agree with everyone! Dont Abort Trial! Normal numbers are 60-120, sooooooo.....

Here's another voice of agreement: stay on the trial! Baby is doing really well and deserves to keep going.

My sympathies to you and your family on your loss. Is there any chance that Baby is picking up the stress and sad feelings at home?

I KNOW so well how you feel about that higher number. I continue to obsess on this, because it is so hard looking at other kitties coming in at 67 all the time. Maybe we need a special support group of "overachiever" kitties--those whose numbers seem to run on the high side!

Don't do anything yet! I've been here numerous times with the syringe in hand and been told to back down and stop foaming at the mouth, so, wait and see what others have to say.

I bet baby just knows you are stressed out and going through an unusual routine lately. I would not abort the trial. Listen to the good people on this board! :-D

(((Nicole)))) all is OK!!!!!! No worries! Baby is still in normal range! I sympathize with you because I am sure I would be freaking too! But....a lot of people told me that blue's are normal during the trial so don't pick up a syringe ok??? You are soooooo close!!!! So sorry to hear about the death in the family, hope you will come home and read all of your posts and feeel better!!! Hugs!

Nicole-

I am so sorry about the death in your family. I feel the difference in your post today. But the good news is Baby is fine. I know you don't love to see 119 or 109 but she's okay. These numbers are okay. Boomer was 99 this morning - again, I don't love that, but it's an okay number. Imagine what would happen if you gave her insulin? She'd probably hypo (or get close) and then you'd panic over that. Let the people here who have the experience guide you!!! XO

((Nicole)) I am sorry about your loss.
Wed knoe how stron you and Baby are.
She is doing fine. As I have said before, this is the hardest phase.
Baby is still adjusting, getting her "bearings" as to where she needs to be.
Max was up and down and even a few days after the party, his numbers were higher.
Now, pretty much whenever I test him he has settled into the 60's and 70's (antinjinx)

Nicole, so sorry to read about the loss in your family. Don't worry about Baby, she came down this morning and will be fine tonight too. We get fixated by the greens and forget that there are very healthy blues too. Thanks for stopping by today, I know you have a lot to deal with. :YMHUG:
