4/29 Allie AMPS 296 /243+3/282+6/ PMPS 340 :(

I would take her up to 6U tomorrow. Btw, is it possible to get a +2 before going to bed at night?

She will be hungry at higher numbers. Several meals is good.

Past the 2 hour mark and she just had a snack. I'll take it at 2am that will be +6. She has her 3rd biggest meal at 11pm. Before she became diabetic her main 3 meals were at 8am, 4pm, 10pm so with the shots and everything else we had to make a new schedule.
I can take her to 6 but Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I have doctors appointments each day and will be gone several hours. I will be able to get a +2 in and maybe a +4 but a +6 will be out of the question.

You needn't stay up till +6 or set an alarm. You can get a test now - even if it's +2.5.

That's fine. A +2 and maybe a +4 is good enough :-)

Tomorrow it's 6!
I'll be here all day. I also emailed my vet her numbers and asked for a script for the generic Lantus 5 pens for $85.00 at Walgreens! Would her dose stay the same when switching to Glargine?

She really did make a pig of herself at 11am and right now she is in her oval office under the coffee table sleeping. It's an oval shaped wicker basket that is flat with a 2 inch rim. We call it her Oval Office.

It's great if you can get the much cheaper generic. 5 pens for $85! The dose would remain the same. Lantus is also glargine. You are just switching brands.

@Bandit's Mom Got this back in the email from the vets office just now.

In regards to the insulin, as glargine is only "biosimilar" to lantus so Dr. Storts would not recommend switching the insulin. They want me in on Tuesday at 5pm to provide a consultation and come up with a treatment plan for controlling Allie's diabetes.

I saw your condo in the Main forum where Sienne and Wendy have given you great advice. We have had lots of people switch from Lantus to the cheaper Semglee.

Well apparently my vet doesn't think so...... We'll have a chat about that. At the units she is going through it gets very expensive. Most of my medications are generic.

They are teaching me so much and Allie and I appreciate it so very much!
