we are currently moving so comet’s earring habita are hit and miss. However, yesterday I didn’t give him insulin and by our evening dose he was at 225 which is really high for him so I went ahead and gave him his normal .5U. This morning he didn’t eat as much as he should have but was at 197 so I dosed. I assume he will be higher later from the stress of the car like yesterday. Was this the right call? I’m going to monitor him throughout the day to be sure he doesn’t drop too low

There's no right or wrong answer here. A lot depends on Comet -- when stressed do his numbers go up or down? As long as you can monitor and get a test every few hours to make sure numbers don't plummet, you should be fine. I'd also make sure you know where the high carb food and syrup and extra strips are in case they are needed. If you haven't done so, I'd also make sure you know where the closest vet ER is. If you're in an unfamiliar community, the last thing you want to be searching for is an ER if there's an emergency. (If it were me, I'd add it to my phone so Siri can give me directions!!) Although it sounds like it's another day in the car.
