Spoke with some people From R.O.C. (Realm of Caring) about giving cats CBD oil. I became concerned because I read it can cause cause high liver enzymes.
They told me that cats have slower metabolisms than dogs so it's better to start out with just 2 or 3 drops a day & watch if there's any reaction, like sleeping more.
My cats are nearly 17 yrs old & sleep most of the day anyway. They also suggested I skip one day a week. I feel at this point the CBD oil is doing more good than harm. I know it makes them eat & feel better.
I've skipped a few days & see the difference.
I checked Peggy Sue's & Ravan's blood work from a few years ago (before I ever gave them CBD Oil) & they both had higher liver enzymes back then so I don't think the CBD oil is causing a problem with their liver enzymes.
To me the CBD has improved the quality of their life. I'll continue using it unless I see some sort of bad reaction. They've been getting it for over 6 months now so I don't anticipate any problems from using it.
