Tuffy is still the same old Tuffy. Tuffy is giving me a run for my money these days. She is currently on 3.5 U. She is surfing the 300s. She has been up to the high 400s. She was doing well after her relapse when I was in the hospital. She had been up to 4.0 U. She was going down the dosing scale in her usual manner a few 31's, 27, and 38 and was down to 2.25 units and running 60-115. That was before I returned to work. Her BGs started going up so I took her to the vet to have her teeth checked, a UA done, and blood work. I thought perhaps she had an infection or tooth problem. Not so. Blood work was all great, absolutely nothing out of line. Her teeth are fine. No problems other than a very small amount of tartar. UA was fine. Everything seemed perfectly normal. The vet feels it is stress related. I agree with him. At least I have found a great vet. I liked his manner with Tuffy and his staff was also great. He even called 3 days after our visit to check on her. So, we continue on our journey. I’ll increase the dose and try and get her back to more normal numbers. Hope she doesn't return to the high doses when we first started here. LOL

I check the board daily but have not posted. Sometimes my schedule seems to get in the way. I am so sad about the recent losses in LL. It’s been a tough year. Sending healing vines and snowflakes to all that need them and success to all of us doing the sugar dance.

Thanks for the update, Barbara. I don't know Tuffy's complete history but it sounds like she is continuing on her unique path. That's good everything came up clean. How are you feeling?
Liz

I so miss hearing about you and your tales of Tuffy! Back to work? I figured you had enough on your hands between caring for all of your furry family and the horse.

Tuffy is still getting into trouble. She spends a lot of time out with the other kitties and she steals their toys. She has the same toys as they do in some cases but she takes theirs anyway.

Hi Liz: I'm doing great. Don't go back to the Dr. till August. He said I'm his poster child (LOL). He's going to put me in the waiting room to encourage individuals younger than I to get rid of their cane or walker at 6 months post surgery. I threw away my "stick" as he calls it a 7 weeks. I am really thrilled with the surgery he did. I barely even have 2 little scars, one in the thigh and one in the hip.

Sienne: Yes, it is busy with the horse and Tuffy. They both have the same personality. The other day the vet was at the barn and I was talking to her and Khoko started kicking the door to his stall. She laughed and said, he wants your attention. You have been here 10 minutes and haven't been down to his stall. Just what I need. He and Tuffy make a pair. Every once in a while Waif and Tuffy get into a little argument. Wait gets tired of Tuffy bossing him around and monopolizing my time. He wants his fair share. The rest of them give her a wide berth. Some things never change.

Never a dull moment with her and the FD side of life too. She makes it interesting, keeps you on your toes. I epxect she will settle soon on the dosing.... one can hope. paws crossed. It is so great that you have found a good vet. YAY!

Hvae a great Caturday - so good to see a Tuffy update. :-D :-D :-D

Hi Barbara

I also can't believe you went back to work. I think Tuffy must be trying to tell you something.

Here's hoping she will come back down to great numbers.

Hi Barbara,
It is great to see a Tuffy condo. I hope that her level of stress decreases and that she will get back to her more normal numbers and more normal dose. It never ceases to amaze me how unpredictable FD is. Just when you think you have it figured out, it changes. We just have to be ready to react to those changes, and you are a great role model in that regard. I hope that when Tuffy gets used to the idea of you going to work again, she will settle down. She is one neat kitty!

Good news about your excellent recovery and good news about finding a really good vet.

Wishing you and the fur & hide crew a lovely spring. Sending scritches to Tuffy, Waif and the gang, pats to Khoko, and hugs to you.

Hi Barbara,

It's good to see you and to hear that the vet gave Tuffy a clean bill of health. Congrats on your speedy recovery. I'm glad to hear that all is well with you and your gang. I hope that Tuffy's numbers will come down for you soon.

Linda
