Gracie's Yesterday

Our LBG is such a smart little thing and she knows what she wants when she wants it! The latest batch of WN Turkey does not appeal to Gracie or Tobey but they will eat it with a little hesitation. So last night it was WN Turkey on the menu and Gracie had left a bit on her plate. I put some FD chicken dust on it but it wasn't enough to convince her. So I took two little shrimpies and embedded them in the little bit of food left. I thought they were embedded enough that in order to eat her beloved shrimpies, she'd have to lick up the Turkey, too. Nope. Gracie 3 Mama -12. Somehow my little Principessa managed to gingerly get the shrimpies out without touching the Turkey :lol: :lol:
Her numbers have started getting wonky and it's day 42 on the pen. I can't figure out why I am not able to get these pens to last until they are empty when she's getting such a small dose. I have 1/4 of a pen left and we are so careful with them. They are stored in a drawer with a refrigerator thermometer right next to them so I can keep an eye on the temp which is always at 40 degrees F. We haven't ever dropped them; we take the pen out, draw the dose, put the pen back in the frig, and then adjust the dose. We don't leave the frig drawer or the frig open. The wonkiness is just her coming down, stopping, and then going right back up. She seems to only do that when the pen is on the fritz. I'm going to give it a couple more cycles and then we'll see.
Rich came by this morning to start his indoctrination to caring for LBG and Tobes next weekend while we go away for two days for our anniversary. She, Tobey, and I had gone btb this morning and so when I got up to get dressed, she stayed in bed. She was still there when Rich came and she seemed a little shy MAMA!! What's that man doing in our bedroom???? :shock: :shock: :shock: But she did not seem bothered when he stood right there while I showed him how I test her. However, she only took a few licks off her +2 breffis and then was more concerned about his presence than eating. Of course, I"m nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile because I am confident he can deal with testing/shooting. But If she is not going to eat, that's a different story. It's odd, too, because she is a good eater. At any rate, he hung around until +3 and she felt comfy enough then and cleaned her plate and ate some FD chicken treats out of his hand. He's going to come back tonight to T/F/S and we'll see how it goes. He's so calm and gentle with them. Tobey LOVES him. So I think it will just be Gracie getting used to him.
